Hey boys and girls,

Stormy here. I have a some friends that have invited me to play Realism Mods a few times and i have to say that it is a totally different DoD experience. Some may not like it, some havent tried it, but i figured since we are the awesomest clan and group of gamers around; why not try having a realism night?

Let me know what you think and maybe we can get it on!

PS. There will be cake*!!!

*There will be no cake.

Alrighty,

Realism in Day of Defeat Source is basically a more tactical approach of playing the game. The two teams (Axis and Allies) still try to kill each other, but each team has an objective. From the Realisms I have played teams alternate in attacking and defending areas of the map. The defending team chooses their location and a basic perimeter which cannot be crossed by the defending team is implemented. Once an area has been chosen, the defending team’s commanding officer types “live” into all-chat to commence the game. The attacking team must then find the opposing team’s location and terminate with extreme prejudice. The winning team is the team that has either eliminated the opposing team or the defending team wins if they defend their area for the allotted time. In addition to the varied game play, further class and weapons restrictions are also implemented. Usually each team is permitted either one Machine Gun or one Sniper Rifle. The remaining classes are sometimes restricted to one fully automatic weapon, one rocket class and the rest of the players must be riflemen.

Hope that helps,

Stormy

Sounds like a good idea! I know we are always looking for other events we can do.

Can you give me an IP to a realism server? I want to try it out, and i cant find any myself.
I think i may be searching for the wrong thing here.

I absolutely hate realism. It is the most boring, drawn out, restrictive gameplay of all time. What a complete and total waste of time and patience.

Let me just add a few things, there are many realism units in DOD:S,CS:S,CoD and many more. Normally when there is a realism going on,the server is password protected. There will be an event coordinator there. He/she will tell how many weapons can be used for example: 2-1-3-4 means,2 supports,1sniper,3 MG and 4 rockets, normally assult and rifle classes are allways available. And when you get killed, you automaticly get sent to the spectator mode. I know quite alot about realism cause I do play realism ;).
oh ya,the reason for ppl holding realisms is that the players can expirience how the war was done ;)

I voted yes, as I was involved within the realm of realism since damn near the release of DoD1 and "retired" happily with the rank of 1st Lt.

It's a fun and very intense way to play the game and for those interested, it's worth giving it at least one go.:chair:

Agreed, sounds good i have played a few myself, It gives the game s sense of reason, instead of just running around killing, like most do.

" what? objectives? what are they?" >_> what i hear in the pubs sometimes lol.

because I have never played a realism mod,i cannot truely give an oppinion if the clan should have a defined realism nite. and because a person can only vote once I think the options "I have tried Realism and i like it. I have not tried Realism. I dislike and/or hate Realism." should be removed. because If i were to vote "I have not tried realsims." then i could not for No or YES.

realism is fun if u know how to be very cooperative. I used to do it with a bunch of friends before and it was pretty good. I think it would be cool to start a realism night

Great! Ill look into finding someone to help me set it up, and ill be needing the help of people more experienced in realism.

I'd be up for it as long as we don't take this "too" seriously. I've played some before and to me they were waaaaaay to military and hardcore (step out of line and your kicked). But I think it would be cool and would be willing to give it a shot.
