Why does EGO servers have this?

24man server
5cp map rotation +gravelpit
no crits, no damage spread

:P:P:P:P:P

But seriously, I don't care for random crits

I apologize sometimes when I kill people with them :(

oh and like other people are saying your memory is selective unless you fire a crit that kills more than 4 people your memory of dieing by one will overtake it

However, if a person is so skilled and can kill there opponents without the crits in the first place, then there isn't a need for crits for highly skilled people at all. (If they are truly skilled they will kill you anyways) The increased chance of a crit for a highly skilled player is still falling into their favor, and making it harder for the newer players. The increased chance of criting over an amount of dmg done is just another perk for the good players.
Sorry if it seems like I'm complaining about this, it is just something I feel is keeping me from potentially having more fun.
P.S. I actually feel dirty when I launch a crit nade/sticky at people and kill them instantly, because I know exactly how it feels. I do infact feel guilty.

I dont know about you but i love them. The reason. They are domewhat based off skill. When i get them it means that i have done well. And that one person who is better ( When i say one i mean all) then me keeps on killing me. Now these random critts help me kill him and in the end keep me in the server. They are good, and i like them. I just have to say good choice on this one leadership. You all should keep up the good work. with out small things like this our servers would die. Thanks again.

Yep, I don't like playing casually. I want to play competitively. I strive to be better every day.

Same here. But still, I feel good if I get a critical when playing soldier, it means I've done some damage in the last 20 or so seconds. :p

First of all. People are proposing that TF2 is some sort of super competitive skill fest. Obviously it is a game meant for fun and comedy. You don't want TF2 to end up like Counterstrike. (aka a bunch of competitive 14 year old angry teenagers who take video games way to seriously and whine every time they die)

ive been playing CS:S for 5 years, and i was a damn good player (tournaments and so on, ladders etc)
and its no fun anymore

my point is : i hate random crits but they bring little changes , without em its always the same especially on the 24/7 servers, its getting boring if you play the same map for 2-3 hours at a weekend, just to have some fun and its always the same
random crits make you have an evil grin in your face
and you can laugh about the message you get from the guy who died to your crit
"random crit bleehhh." or something like that

lawl

The flipside, as I alluded to earlier though, is that new/unskilled players have a chance to push back good players and earn some breathing space. While it would do nothing new for the skilled player (except kill their quarry faster ;) ) it gives new/unskilled players a chance to do some damage to the enemy.
