Phase One Website Updates

Unfortunately, the people responsible for these great new website graphics are also the ones who work on news posts. As such, please bear with me as I attempt to hobble together a news post on my own...

This new design is the first phase of a larger plan to overhaul the EdgeGamers website over the coming months. In this release, major website elements such as the header and footer got a facelift. Other updates include forum status icons, buttons, and rank tags. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more changes!


Please give a huge round of applause for the people responsible for bringing you these updates!

Aw now I gotta redo my spray to have the new e logo in it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I HAVE TO DO MORE WORK.
 
Looks very nice, great job guys! I do have two comments though: I'd like to see a little different (re: darker blue) button color for new posts in forums like ChocolateVillian said on page 1, and I'd kind of rather see a red X for a closed topic rather than the light blue one, just because it's so much faster to identify. I love the blue/black/white color scheme, and realize that this breaks with it, but I feel it might be a lot easier to see.
 
You guys have placed a lot of work into the website which is great since it takes so much time that a lot of people don't really appreciate it well done. The logo changes I am neutral on, it isn't significantly better or worse, just different. I am a big fan of the sharper crisper edgegamers organization logo.

However with that said the sidebars are a horrible addition and take your focus away from the content in the middle. You have rounded corners for most of your page and the projections are an unsightly contrast. The rails as you have called them should be removed to give some whitespace for the rest of the website which would improve legibility.

I honestly prefer the old version. Plus, it's hard to tell when there is a new post in a thread now with the light colors.
 
Thanks for showing your appreciation and for sharing your opinions, guys. I've been bombarded with countless critiques and suggestions on how to do it "better." The light blue of the status icons will definitely be addressed, as well as anything else that may need adjustments. We want the site to be user-friendly for all.

The website is looking really cool guys. big ups to who ever was on the lead of that. Definite going in a good direction. :)
