Hello everyone, I am wondering if it is possible to use a Nvidia PCI 9500gt like this as a dedicated PhysX card. If so how much is it actually going to help in games? I would have to get a PCI card because my motherboard only has 1 PCIE 2.0x16 slot which is currently being used by my 9800gt.
Yes, you can use a card such as a 9500gt as a dedicated PhysX processor. You would only really see improvements in games that actually use PhysX, such as Unreal Tournament 3, but it can increase performance noticeably.
You can as long as your main video card is an Nvidia card. If your main graphics card is an ATI, then Nvidia disables the physx processing on the secondary card. Aren't they wonderful people?
