[poll] Headset Mic Problem

Anyone know wat this problem is from: My headset can send out noises well, but the mic won't work. Whenever I use anything (skype, playing a game, ventrillo), the mic never works... anyone knows wat the problem might be?

Try

start>all programs>accesories>entertainment>volume control>options>properties>recording>

Then make sure microphone is checked then press ok.

Select your microphone for the recording control and select the "advanced" button below it. Click the +20db boost button and then exit.

This is thinking you have the plugin from your headset into the correct jacks. If this is a usb headset, you may need the drivers installed or updated from what came with it.
