Wired all the way. The only wireless mouse I would consider would be the Razer Mamba but $130 is way too much. I can't afford wireless-n stuff, so wired internet. And wireless keyboard just makes no sense.

Wireless is more convenient buy for gaming you can't get the reliable connection nor the speed you need to sustain a GREAT score :D

but wireless is great for surfin or email.

i use a mix i have my desktop and server both wired but than i have my 2 macbook pros on wireless n i have an airport extreme n and 3 airport express n's around the house that i use for extending range and for access points for things like my printer and my media server to attach to.

and i used to game on the MBP before i upgraded my desktop and i never had issues or had any noticeable difference using wired or not.

and everything just works with out string god damn cat5's all over my house even outside.

The wired is more convenient for gaming, while the wireless is more convenient for the internet and such (assuming your using a laptop)

I voted Wired since this is a gaming forum. However, there are some great things and uses for wireless. Its all about what you need to do and how secure you need something to be. There are ways to secure wireless beyond your simple WEP, WPA, etc. There are also awesome things like Wireless ISPs or wireless backhauls... I love my courses on wireless.

I need to get a picture of my desktop setup. I've got wires, but it's mostly organized in a decent manner. Also having a desk that can handle the load and direct the wires where needed helps a great bunch.

I've spent more than enough money in the past 2 years on gaming equipment. I've always tried to get the quality equipment that has a warranty and is recommended by others. I'm not too keen on spending a whole bunch of money on a wireless gaming mouse (I do know they're good now) when I can get a much cheaper and same/better quality wired gaming mouse.

I prefer wired, I haven't heard so much good things about wireless for gaming and I don't see why I should change to wireless.

you lose quite a few packets when its being sent wireless but wired is alot better for gaming TBH. wireless to wired i went from 100 Ping - 50 ping so what you think is better :P

Wired, please. While I don't like dealing with wires, dealing with rechargable batteries (and remembering to charge them) I hate even more!

sticking with wired until they start producing wirelessN products that are not draft version.

Wireless Keyboards suck for gaming IMO. They always seem to have trouble when pressing 3 or 4 keys at once.... that is more than enough for me to say NO to wireless keyboards/mice for gaming.

regardless of whether you are using wireless or wired, it depends also on your internet connection and speed of the connection.

whether its wired/wireless networking or peripherals I love me some wired I can deal with them wires they are just better and No batteries :P

Forced to disagree with this one mate.

Whether gaming online or off, I notice a distinct decrease in performance with wireless equipment. One can game reasonably well with only a fair/decent internet connection. With sub-par equipment, good luck.

In fact, I notice a decrease in the quality of the defining category for every wireless product that has a wired counterpart.

Wireless networking just isn't as fast as wired.

Streaming video just isn't as high quality as the old-school-via-cable video.

I'm forced to say the same for audio, although the difference isn't necessarily as drastic.

The technology is acceptable, but in terms of pure performance it is still behind wired tech.

EDIT *** Of course, if you're my girlfriend...and you see all those ugly wires behind the desk... Well, no amount of performance enhancement will justify their unsightlyness. Trust me. :( ****

Wireless. One, Because I have no choice (Computer isn't near my router at all) and, I get faster speeds than people wired anyway. So, I'm happy.

For anyone thats curious of what wireless adapter I have, Belkin Wireless G.

The Math would disagree...but I don't

If you compare the d/l speed of even a fast dsl connection (4.5-6 meg/s maybe?) and the theoretical throughput of 'G' (54 meg/s) you should see no difference. BUT I agree with you, there is a difference. If you could twink the QOS for a particular APP (actually you usually can) maybe it would be different (haven't tried). But everytime I go wireless, I get an apparent slowdown also...
