So you all know me and how I try to encourage everyone to rush on high school.

Some of you may think its ridiculous and fail while some of you might think its ridiculously fun and awesome.

Well, both of you guys are right. It can either lead to disaster or epic wins.

The fact that you see like 20 Terrorists coming at you in the hallway in east hall might and probably force you to back off and retreat and run away. The physical number of bodies the eye sees gives weight to a defeatist mindset in which it psychologically effects game play as a disadvantage to you in which you have already lost. As they say, "A truly great army is one that can win wars with out unsheathing its sword".

The psychological weight of the rush also is good because it allows support to be right behind or beside you. If you die, people around you will move up and take your spot.

The crucial element of a rush is the ability of producing fearlessness. Fearlessness creates a web of inter-connecting confidence that pulls other players together to create a strong spiderweb like mass which leads to a victory.

The problem is that rushes will fail if the unconsciously elected leader of the group dies. This usually leads to a halt of movement of the mass IF the web is spread too far apart. But if the web is closely knitted together and the leader dies, then new leaders will take the lead and the mass continues to have its momentum.

Just like in Ancient Rome where the mob had invisible but weighty totally control over political and societal decisions and actions, the rushing Ts also have immense advantage even though it is unknown to them.

Now there are two different types of rushes. One type is a normal rush where people buy their own guns. The other type is what I call the Specialty Rush where the group decides as a whole to buy a single gun.

Specialty rushes create more team cohesion and movement but also leads to quick downfall if the right weapon is not picked. Normal Rushes are better because they allow one to play to one's strength but at the same time contributing the overall cohesion of the team and its movement across the field.

This is just something you guys can read and decide for yourselves. I am writing a paper on the masses and herding instincts within groups and whatnot, such as incidents where people mass suicide. Its for a psychology thesis I'm writing.

What do you guys think?
The illusion of reality is created from reality.

ya...even though you get the bombsite wrong every time. xD very good advice tho.

Good advice, and you obviously understand that tactics behind rushing.
HOWEVER, the fundamental problem with rushing and CSS is that the majority of players are just here for points.

Like the part about how if you die, someone moves in and takes your place.
The people dont want to die, they just wana mow everyone down and be the winner.

If people didnt care about points so much, rushing would be a valid and often successful tactic.

This is a really good point.

I enjoyed reading this :) i find it true. When I see a huge amount of T's rushing front office i definitely retreat either to garage or try to find a different spot where I can take them down/survive. Thanks for the points :)

this is the funny thing about it, because it often is successful if they all do it.
whether you are a ct on cs maps, or t on de maps your job is to rush. the map is laid out to basically force you to rush, or else you'll get destroyed.
now i always use dust2 as an example, because well its probably the best example. but every map has choke points, small areas in which the opposing team is watching for you to rush through.
cts need to have approx 4-5 people watching each choke point (usually 4 points) making up the 20 ppl a team. their advantage is that they can usually get to these points a split second faster than the terrorists, also they have the advantage of the choke point. they have the disadvantage of numbers.
terrorists have the disadvantage of needing to rush, but they have the advantage of numbers. all of their team can rush 1 point, no problem, so now its 20vs5, and as long as everybody participates, they can be successful in almost every single rush they ever attempt. the catch is they will most likely lose approx 20-30% of their team, and once the bomb is down they need to watch the choke points and now the cts need to rush in.

basically every team that needs to rush, usually fails because they don't know how. it is a completely different mind set to just say ok lets rush in there. but at long as everybody has that mind set, and does so, you'll be fine. obviously once a couple people duck out or freak out and stop just to get shot down, nothing is going to be accomplished except slaughter.

if its your job, seriously rally people together and rush...go fast too, don't pause to try to selectively pop shots off at the snipers or whatever, you need to go. you're in a very small spot which everybody is looking at, and if you don't get through it ASAP you're dead. RUSH means RUSH.
they do not have many people in the bomb sites and you can overrun them. also remember there are 2 ways into each objective site on basically every map, utilize both entry ways and you converge on the enemy in 2 points at the same time. they cannot shoot in 2 directions at the same time, so you will win.

rushing just doesn't get orchestrated very well on pub servers because there are people that will not listen, so it usually is best to be on the defending side. its just easier to be, which is why its preferred.

GreenTea, very good point. But, in game, your plans fail. :D Everytime you say rush, we should stay back. >:] But yes because of this post I might listen to you more. Maybe :D

Keep it coming GreenTea, I love it when you take charge and increase the fun factor in the server.

So let me tell you guys the story about the tortoise, the hare, and the chicken butt.

You have me. Tell me more...

Also, be thankful that this isn't like DoD:S where one MG can easily mow everyone down.

Oh god now I want to go back to DoD:S...
