Great.. this is awful, so much for dedicated servers, MD 2 has made it in the top sellers already, so i doubt IW will change the matchmaking system.

Do you actually believe that the games in the top sellers list are really the top sellers? That list is just another advertising ploy. You see a game on that list and think "wow everyone is playing this game, it must be really good, maybe I should buy it". I GUARANTEE that MW2 isn't selling as well as Steam is making it out to seem.

True. Hopefully, they're actually not a top seller right now.

honestly, i doubt the average player for this game doesn't give a damn about the matchmaking system. As with any game, the forum going, vocal population is nothing more than a really loud minority. I, for one, like the server system because custom content is A+ in my book but to the average buyer of MW2? they never new it was an option and so they won't miss it now.

Yeah I hate to say it, but i'm pretty sure this game is still going to be a huge seller. I mean look at the majority of the players. Most of the people I know that play only sports games, now also play halo 3 and COD4. This one won't be any different. Matchmaking is a great thing for those without any skill or those that aren't really into PC gaming. It makes it easy for them to jump into a game with people at the same skill level and never get better or worse.

I just am going to have to avoid this game because I can't stand the idea of always being matched with people the same skill as I am. Thats just a fail.

I think im gonna buy it from steam next week just for the sake of the single player

This is exactly what everyone "boycotting" will be doing. You guys are angry but it wont stop you from buying the game. Im not a fan of COD at all but all this talk has just made me skeptical. Anyways even though your gonna get i for single player you know youll play multilayer. On top of that, the producers of this game do not care because they know it is a top seller and people "boycotting" will soon change their minds. Lets stop all this talk already guys.

Good, just wait for a while and hopefully they will change it I wouldn't like this new no dedicated servers either if i played COD. Good luck fellas

I am going to buy it... eventually... just not for 60 bucks... I will wait for it to go on sale because I dont think any game is worth 60 bucks

ok boys and girls they aren't going to change it just cuz a few people are complaining.
you know its their choice not yours, if they want to make it non dedicated then deal with it. if you won't buy the game then don't i don't really think they will change it just so a little few would buy it.

but thats my opinion and im getting it on the 360, so it doesn't really matter to me :P

I guess I'm part of that minority then. I'm boycotting, I'm mad as heck and I will not be buying the game. It won't be one of those games that's just a singleplayer. Those games are usually awesome and totally worth $60. This game won't be that great. I don't care what any of the hype says. As great as those other games are, they can't hold my attention forever. You can't possible think that the singleplayer is going to be so good that you'll want to play it through more than 3 or 4 times.

I used to be a diehard CoD fan. Over the years, I've slowly gone away, just because of what it's turned into. After this, I feel betrayed by Infinity Ward. I can honestly say, my fanboymanship for Call of Duty is dying. IW and Activision will not be getting any of my money. I may buy this game when the price drops, but until then, I'm keeping my money.

Yeah i get bored of games after a while whether mmo, fps or anything. 60 bucks always slips outta my pocket

If it's a top seller in Steam, then there's a lot of PC gamers out there that need to go buy a damn Xbox.

As of right now, the petition has 145227 signatures. Even if everyone who signed that petition boycotted the game(which they won't), that is still a very small minority. The Steam seller list is accurate.

On a lighter note, does anyone yet know if MW2 retail is going to have Steamworks support? By that I mean will you be able to register it on Steam if you buy retail(Like Dawn of War 2). They did mention that MW2 would have lots of Steam support...

MW2 Is fully integrated into steam, so that would be yes.

It also runs on VAC.
