What happened to our Gravelpit? Why did it get changed to a lousy koth Harvest map?

Thats the thing, the event has been over and was changed back to gravelpit for a couple of days. Now its back to harvest again.

They killed dustbowl cause no one was playing it anymore. Sorry cliff.
Oh noes, one of the greatest maps ever, gone such a shame... But are you going as well to Lotus or Nemu? think all the pubs are there now

Yup, that and learning to spy on noob servers.
Maps won't come back regardless of how fun they are. We keep numbers first, fun second. We forget about how many pubs we lose when we switch maps so readily, resulting in long run lower rankings. but oh well warpath, dustbowl, g-pit... there are other servers to fill map voids.

I REALLY hope this is a cruel joke... who's "they" btw?
also, Gravelpit was a lot of people's favorite maps. Many people attended to G-Pit everyday. Me, drift of the apexi, green lantern, zero711, luxmortim, billsimons, jaydee, just to name a few.

Hm. Some misinformation going on in this thread....
Let's see if I can help nudge things back onto the right path:
As others have said, it was changed because we (see below) wanted to run the Harvest Event map. The least populated servers (other than Valve Maps) were used.
1. Maps always have a chance to "come back". Based on the feedback we receive, adjustments to the maps are always under consideration.
2. Personally, I'd like to think "fun" and "numbers" go hand-in-hand. I worry more about playing and having fun than any particular number or ranking. If I don't have fun, why would I play on that server?
If this is how you feel, I hope to see you on Valve maps more....
1. Dustbowl was not "killed". It was the next lowest server and used for the Harvest Event map.
2. "They" would be the TF2 Leadership team.
3. That's great to hear so many people liked Gravel Pit. If it comes back, we hope to see you play on it a lot!
That said, we (DL's) are working out the details on what we want to do with the two KOTH servers. For you eGO's, you may expect a thread in the eGO private forum with more details and soliciting your input soon (i.e. Within a day or two).

Hmm...I personally dont like GravelPit but I do think that having two KOTH servers is a bit much...One is full, while the other is dead during the weekends and both are usually dead during the weekdays...I believe its time for a change-up =P
