Speccin' after being dominated

If this has been previously discussed at length, I apologize -- I did a quick search but didn't find anything similar. Then again I've never been good at finding things.

Basically, this came to mind after I read Goomba's "dying without honor" thread:

While playing (usually on Donner of course), often times I would notice players who just died going to spec and then almost immediately rejoining their team. Is there any legitimate reason why they would be doing this? I seriously doubt they've mastered the art of relieving themselves in 0.5 milliseconds, so I'm pretty sure it's not a speedy toilet break that they just had.

When you go to spec does your nemesis 'list' reset back to normal? I haven't tested this myself as no one has ever dominated me. In any case, that's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with for what they're trying to do. And if so, wouldn't this be a w/k/b-able offence since it's essentially an unfair attempt to manipulate the points system?

Yes it does clear any nemsis's or dominations, if they are deliberately doing this to make sure no one can get revenge or so they dont appear dominated anymore please inform the admin using the team chat button followed by an @ symbol. This will go directly to all admins privately.

From there the admins will WKB as necessary.

ok so clearing your name like that is not allowed, gotchya i thought it wasnt but was never sure thanks for clearing that up :)

I find myself going to spec or afk frequently when playing any given game. It's usually because of distractions; i've got a two-year-old running around the house. The notion of clearing any nemesis' or dominations has never crossed my mind. Never knew such a thing was possible.

wow, its pretty low to deny someone their chance at revenge and cowardly to clear your nemesis rather than getting revenge. Now what can we do about the ones who steal my kills by picking up my primed nades and suiciding;) (note the wink).

bacon they are talking people who switch them selves to spec mid game then come right back into it and continue playing. so your fine lol

If that's to be enforced, it really should be posted somewhere in game, unless it is and i'm just missing it

if it wasn't clear, also note that it resets the counter towards dominations. If you get 3 kills on someone and they switch to spec they've just reset the counter and that's also pretty lame.

And nobody has dominated you with a BAR/STG44 yet...interesting.

;)

I didn't even know it worked this way myself, honestly.

At one point in DoD:S this didn't work, the same as TF2 currently is. You had to join the opposing team to clear deaths that would count toward being dominated. Have they changed it?

Players do this not just so they dont have a domination or nemisis. They do it because of the points that are involved with it. Its just another way to point\stat farm. Which is not allowed. Also if a player does this when the other team wins the round and joins spec then the same team just to avoid the death they should be warned as well.

hahaha....NO NADE KILL FOR YOU!!! :P

Wow i did not know that the counters reset when you spec in and out. That's just low if you do it just to reset.
