Not to rain on anybody's parade but the only way to get good is to play real maps, scrim maps, not the 16k crap, the real stuff. Then get a team and do some practice scrims. Doing practice is like being in eGO Jailbreak, ur shooting targets that are not moving. Sorry, but getting headshots on Dust2 doesn't make you pro. If you go ECO or CEVO (if you guys even have a clue what that is) then good for you, other then that, your just another brick in the wall. To be good, you gotta learn strats, how to use guns, and learn how to play. A way to get decent is bring your cross hairs to 70000. Mine are tiny and allows easier kills. But learning to burst fire on an AK-47 to a certain point is good, but what happens when you gotta reload in the middle of a situation? You got to learn how to react. I have played CS:S for two years. Until now I have learned that learning from people and playing on pubs servers make you good to an extent. If you think playing high school and leading the game makes you good? Your wrong. Sorry to burst ur bubble folks but that's the cold, hard truth. The only way to get good is to play pubs until you think you can scrim and go from there. I never took lessons because people told me things that I thought were dumb and idiotic. I learned by myself, and when im in pub servers, I lead. And not the 16k crap, the real stuff. Another thing, playing just Dust2 wont make you better it makes you worse, learn to play maps such as De_nuke, Inferno, etc. Dust2 is a nub map sorry to say. Nuke is great though, it teaches you to check corners, throw nades into great kill zones, and learn how to move from A to point B ( for instance moving from Squeaky to Vents to B without getting killed (A.K.A your whole team. ) ).
Maps I recommend playing are Nuke, Inferno, Dust2 (<--- not so much), De_cpl_mill, De_season, etc. Dont play hostage maps because those are horrible. Cs_office is also a nub map that requires you to spray a lot.
What I hate hearing is when people say "dude u suck im the one leading the game so be quiet." who gives a crap? Like it matters. If you know technique and not spray'n'pray (like 80% of players do), then you got nothing to worry about.
I don't play jailbreak much anymore for many reasons. One, it makes you bad at aiming, really bad. 2nd, your shooting at non-moving targets, like thats even hard. 3rd, you have 20 ct's on your team, learn to play alone and get kills by yourself. When I scrim, I don't mess around and don't just play follow the leader, my team im in calls strats out and we follow them. I had to tryout for my teams and not just hear "Welcome to the team!" Cs:s isn't like that. Learn to play and show your skills in 5v5's, playing on those NoobsGalores servers doesn't make you good, playing scrims do.
Another thing, if you 13 years old, and you think ur good, well prove it dammit. Read my sig if you want to hear more. But please, don't let some 28 year old losers push you around, i'm 14 and im in a team with 30 year old guys, and its not because I "have a deep voice", its because im good, and sure as hell can back it up. And please, don't act all tough, just be yourself and show them you can play.
Last, I GIVE credit to torque. Even though i said getting advice from players isn't the way to go, I learned by myself. And im fine with that. Again guys, its your choice, this is how I look at the game. But if you really want to learn some skills, talk to tourqe, hes got them.
One more time, if you guys feel offended then don't post anything because its not supposed to be, this is how I view CS:S.
