would this be a good card for me?
I only play at 1360x768, but I am getting a new monitor that will be 1920x1080.
I try to play a lot of games, but nothing extreme like Crysis.

that would be perfect card

you could probably do with a hd 5750 even, seeing as you play at 1360x768

Seeing how it's better than a 4870 and around the same price, you're gonna be happy with it.

alright,
I've come to a decision.
I'm getting that (probably going to order by next week)
thanks for the opinions Reflex and Shadow.

yea depends what game.........if your only going to be playing source games, the 5770 will be like a sweet spot to get max settings at 1920x1080. Any other game like Call Of Duty, you will have trouble unless you tone down the settings. The best option is obviously an ATI 5850 but it will be a while before they come back into stock.

You can't really count in Source games, as they use ALOT more of the CPU.

For example. I've noticed a huge difference in other games with my GTX 275 from an 8800gt, but in Source games it's exactly the same just about.

very true......ehh whatever.....5770 will be fine i guess but i think a 5850 would be a better buy for $100 more when it actually comes into stock.

For him it would be a waste, because he said nothing intensive like Crysis.

Sure the resolution is high but it wouldn't hurt it that much.

Good card. This is probably what I will eventually get my wife. Lots of power, small form factor and only 1 6 pin connector. All they need to do is pump out newer, better drivers (L4D2).

well, I do play Crysis, but I don't care if it doesn't run at max with smooth frames, I just put it on optimal settings, then textures to high/max.

Well, if you have a good processor to back it up I'm sure over 30 average should be easy. I personally leave the shaders on medium, I think it looks more realistic (real world wise) and ALOT more frames.
