Clarification: Please

Can I ask a question? This does not concearn me directly but I am curious if I am understanding a policy correctly.

If there are Three people (Bill, George, and Fred). Bill is in a clan called xyz. George and Fred are in the TF2 clan and have the rank of eG. George is ONLY interested in being in the TF2 clan, while Fred decides to become an =(e)= in DOD:S as well.


Now, in TF2 servers they appear as:

[xyz]Bill. . . . . . . -since Bill is a visitor, and visitors may keep other clan tags on
=(eG)=George. .- since George has rank and admin in the current server's clan
=(eG)=Fred. . . . - since Fred has rank and admin in the current server's clan



But in the DOD:S servers they appear as:

[xyz]Bill. . . . . . . -since Bill is a visitor, and visitors may keep other clan tags on
=(eG)=George. . - since George is a visitor too, and visitors may keep other clan tags on
=(e)=Fred. . . . . - since Fred is infact a recruit to the current server's clan


This would infact, be correct right? Since eGO treats every clan and their members with respect especially a sister clan. Cirtainly this respect is extended to the clan members tags and their rite to wear those tags while on other servers. Since other clans members are not asked to remove their tags why would we treat a sister clan with any less respect? I have thought about this for a while now and I am genuinely trying to clear this up so please give it some thought before answering.

I also have posted this same question on the TF2 website (but in the other direction) as well to see what their policy is.

As of november first, your rank does not transfer over to the TF2 site.

So if you wanted to join both clans, you could potentially have different ranks.

BUT, if you are an eG in DOD, but only an e in TF2, you are not permitted to wear your eG tag in the TF2 server.

again - This I understand. The question is about George. Who is a member of only one clan, and will sometimes visit the other clans servers. Must he take his tag off completely or may he keep his tag on since members of other clans are allowed to wear their tags on our servers.

George would NOT be allowed to wear his tag over here, unless he felt like registering an e. It's true that both the TF2 and the DoD clan are seperate, but they are also still part of the Edge Gamers Organization as a whole.

Also, since George is not a member of the DoD:S community, to wear his TF2 tag on the DoD servers would be impersonating an admin, which is against the rules and if he didn't remove it, he would be removed from the game.

While wearing your other clan tags is allowed, impersonating an admin and/or clan member is NOT allowed. If you're wearing any Edge Gamer's tag in-game, it'd better correspond with your Edge Gamers rank for that clan (DoD: S or TF2.)

***But in the DOD:S servers they appear as:

=(e)=George. . - George could at most wear the =(e)= tag, if he had in fact registered on the DoD forums and become a recruit for the DoD clan. Wearing an Edge Gamers tag where it is not authorized (such as with him, on the DoD side of things in the case of his eG) is against the rules and would result in him getting a boot.
