Worst Thing that Happened To You in Diablo 2

For me, my older brother and I had just got the game. We spent months farming unique items off of Andariel and everywhere in Act 1. But, in Act 2, during the third quest or so, we both came across this enemy we couldn't kill. We kept going through and making town portals so we could respawn and go through to pick up our bodies, but no matter what, we couldn't kill it. Eventually, we died so many times we decided to run, but it happened to be right after I picked up my first body(yay). Sadly, my older brother came back after I killed the thing, and picked up all of his bodies. None of them were the original.
He hasn't played since(this was like 2-4 years ago) and I only just started playing again.

i traded for a duplicate rune (think it was ber or jah rune) and didn't even know until it disappeared from my inventory later on

ya dupes are evil. I traded for griffs twice and got lazy and didn't perm all the time...both disappeared on me. :facewall:

Worst thing that happened to me? My friend had a lvl 30. Tried running my lvl 5 butt past Andariel. He led her TO ME when he had to move away, and her poison turned me into a puddle of green fleshgoop.

Of course, my friend can do no wrong (in his mind) so it was somehow my fault.

I think one time when I was fighting one of the 3 generals that you kill right before Diablo appears he appeared early. This would have been years ago so my memory is a bit foggy on it.

Worst thing I did: There was that one time my barbarian streaked through Lut Gholein. Wasn't pretty. He did a leap and Deckard Cain puked...

One of my friends took my account (real life friend) and changed the password. Luckily he changed it to his name. so I knew who took.

Couple Bad Incidents:
1. Traded perfect archon enigma for 17 duped runes. (all poofed within 24hours)

2. Went to a website that keylogged my account: be on the look out, it's on google as a website for selling Anni's: address is 141 . 98 . 433 . 84

Don't go to that website, it is a keylogger.. I broke up the periods so it's not a link.

Sold my account for money that never existed.
Hammerdin, Bonemancer, Lightning Sorc, and Whirlwind Assassin. All fully equipped with valuable items you would find under godly-weapons.

This was on Ladder 1.09 so yeah it was a while back. Only had Uber Diablo when I played, I killed him only 3 times (SOJ Counter). Once with my Immortal King Barbarian and twice with my Hammerdin. I can't forget the second drop he gave me, had the lowest stats for everything.

Crazy things I saw on Ladder version 1.09: Teleport hack behind wall, Forcing people to drop gear in Act 2, Auto pick item, Boss-botters, and item Dupes.

Not to forget Forge Rushing people, only for them to leave you at act 4. LoL. Ah good riddence Diablo 2 heh. I just hope they fix and prevent these on Diablo 3.



[Edit] Only thing helpful that I can remember is that Nightmare Andy... the first kill has the highest chance of dropping SOJ on ladder. So I usually have my sorc help rush normal players to nightmare.

Worst thing for me was working my butt off on to get my first hardcore character to level 50, and I got there and was all excited and then BAM! It started to lag and the next thing I know, Im staring at the death screen!!!! I WAS SO MAD!

I traded for a few duped runes myself, but I'd have to say the worst thing that happened was out of game. I played to the point of academic probation... :facewall:
