<div style="width: 500px; text-align: center" align="center">We've needed to clarify our guidelines on user names for quite sometime. The Council, with input from Recruiting Leadership has come up with the following, effective immediately, which can be located here:
</div>Make sure your in-game name and forum name are the same. Capitalization doesn't matter.
We do not allow any special characters in forum names or in-game names. We define a special character as one that cannot be typed on a USA keyboard without alt-codes. Standard non-alphanumeric characters ($ % & ! ? { * etc) are allowed but should be kept to a minimum. For example, the name Bob! would be ok, but $&Bob!#$ would not.
Your name must be eGO appropriate. We are more strict about the names of our members than we are with pubs. In other words, there are "gray" names we allow pubs to use that we would not allow from members. Feel free to ask an Advisor or Division Leader if you need clarification on borderline names.
Do not add a clan tag, =(e)=, =(eG)=, =(eGO)=, or any other clan's tag, to your forum name. Tags are to be placed in front of your name while in game, but members of EdgeGamers must have our tag in front and any other clan tag at the back of the name.
COD users must use 9 characters in-game and use an abbreviated name that is similar to your forum name.
Keep in mind that the user name you choose could be contested by a current member. Current members can contest names by placing a message in the Drop Box. Recruiting Division Leaders will make the call on all contested names.
