Everyone has a different way to snipe, Some run in and some camp. I just want to know what you guys do. I for one, sometimes deagle rush but i sometimes sit back and camp until they come and just pick them off as they come along. Please tell me what gun your using for what stratergy!
Can't wait to read your replys!

for sniping? number 1 rule is to find a spot that is long distance and camp, errr i mean guard the area from enemies. The longer the distance the better, by using a sniper you have accuracy and range on them and improve your chances of living.

Its hard to come up with general strategies, you need to tailor your style to the map you are playing and what side.

I run and no scope. lol
I am a very mobile sniper.
I snipe very few times though compared to black hawk though lol.

Try advancing with your teammates but in the back and covering the doorways infront of them. You don't need to aim for the head because chances are your teammates will do most of the dmg.

I like to keep a mid-range sniping distance. Usually I run up like i have an m4 or ak but then i slow down and slowly make my way forward. Don't get too close and don't get too far.

at highschool i camp north hall and just look at parking lot place and try to pick off as many as i can. then when i see that i can't hold it i run(with scout, since its the fastest) to courtyard and pick them off looking at the hallway into B. another one is camp courtyard....last one is A, the hallway at A east? west? forgot. go their scoped and kill!!

I'm a horrible sniper, so I just noscope people most of the time. I'm sure I remember doing it to Hoodie at least once in a big close-range firefight. It's fun when it works :D

Since sniping is rather horrible made in the cs:s i dont normaly do it cuz its so slow to bring up the sights and im used to quickscoping so thats why i hate sniping in cs:s but any other games i PWN with a sniper but in cs:s try to shoot and pull out your knife i believe its called a qucikshot that works quite effective.

+2 uncle blackhawk knows the strats :P

I suck at sniping :( that's why i don't buy scout often. but when i try i usually stay in same spot, (take 2 steps left or right to dodge bullet)

um... well lets see... i think i usually just shoot them in the head... that usually does the trick... if it doesnt work the first time... u just do it again lol.

Alright this is how to snipe:

1. Find a good spot where a lot of people go
2. The way to scope is to flick your mouse. Mouse flicking is complicating. One rule for that is that as long as you see them in your scope area you can shoot them. Scout/ AWP flicking is a tough thing to do but it is very useful for any sniper.
3. Try to learn to corner peak. This is done by scouting at a corner really fast. You never really go around the corner, but just letting yourself be seen a lil bit.
4. Another good way is to try no scoping. This is a really helpful way in a tough situation when you have an enemy right in front of you.

Try practicing at a map called scoutandknives. It is very fun and it is good practice

I prefer MID or LONG(depending on the map) with an AWP and pick off a few of them. If they rush your spot, take a shot then fall back to another cover spot and pick another and so on. Depends on the situation of course but that what i usually do.

For the most part I try to stay as mobile as possible because it helps reduce your opponents knowledge of your whereabouts. Rarely do I ever slow walk because once you fire your guns you show up on the map anyway. I also vary the amount of pressure I use to push up through the map depending on how people are playing and how many people there are. another thing I notice is most people tend to favor a specific route after a while, so use this to your advantage and expect them to be in their usual spots. By about 1:30-1:15 I try to be in a position and have a plan to push up more aggressively towards the objective.

In no way do I claim to be an expert awpsmith or sniper in general. My statements are only what I have learned through playing. But maybe someone will take something from this!

Oh, and of course, I try not to die. :)
