After doing the math, I'd much rather fight a soldier using the new launcher. Rarely do I get hit directly by a rocket. Nearly every time, when a soldier kills me it's with splash damage.

Woah! Foxhound is actually considering one of the sidegrades?!?!?! I suppose it is the best one yet (besides the blutsauger) because it actually adds to the skilled player's ability, rather than detract from it.

My biggest question is how much will this affect a soldier's ability to take down a sentry? If it doesn't improve his ability to assault an open sentry position, then I think it will be used more for defense and 1v1/harassment.

Exactly, I VERY RARELY have soldiers shooting anywhere but near my feet if they're not just spamming them in my general direction.

Seems like an obvious upgrade to me for anyone who actually aims with the rocket, particularly comp players. Sure, you lose splash but with the speed it moves at, body shots will be easier. The Direct Hit's speed will be faster than a sandman baseball and an uncharged huntsman arrow, being second fastest projectile in the game. Won't be hard to reflect if you can reflect arrows. Depending on how extremely low the splash damage is, this just seems like a no-brainer choice for any soldier looking to improve his game.
