I am not sure where I should post this. However i have a DOD server, and I would be willing to change it to a DOD:S server if the clan believes that they could use it

If you go to the main page all the news is posted by council members (or at least higherups). Click on their name, it takes u to a small profile page, then there is a little box to PM them.

I think it would be very generous to donate an entire server to eGO, or at least host it for eGO, but I'm pretty sure Kendle and them like to be in charge of the servers, and we can't have a server that we own not be in our control, or not be sure it will always be up, or even if you 'give' it to us then we don't know if you will keep it up.. and if you give the WHOLE thing to us then it becomes a financial burden.

As long as I am in the clan, I would let you have full control over the server as in all of the content on it, I would not change anything, and also the one condition would be that I can have my admin on my server like i would if it was mine

Lots of things are going on here and I figured this thread woudl die out before I had to respond. Alas, here I am.

While a donatin of a server could be, finantially a great donation, the truth is, it is not truely being donated. First off, when you say you have 'a server' the chances are good that what you mean is that you have a spare computer with DOD:S deticated server installed with an internet connection that comes to your house.

Who doesnt have that? . But honestly, when you play at one of our servers you are actually playing on a box which is fairly well equiped with a nice internet connection, being monitored by professionals for uptime. A spare computer, unless new, will most likely lagg with 32 players after it has been up for months.

Nother problem is that most people in america have an internet connection with fast download speeds in the range of 3-6 Mbps, but only an upload speed of 300 Kbps or less. Now, with 32 people downloading from ther server at 100K will require and upload speed of 3200 K.

Also comes the problem of admin. With direct access to the copmuter you get direct access to the console - wich gives you the power to do anything. I do not know what rank you are in the clan - however, giving a donation with the pretence that you will gain council level privileges on a clan server can be contrused as a bribe for a promotion.

I suspect that nothing will come of this for these reasons and more, however if you really wish to hear it from the mouth of the clan then ask someone directly, not in a forum post. JohnT is a really busy guy so, you will have better luck asking the house leader of the house you are a member of.

ok thank you, it is a server which I pay for, I dont want rank in the clan, and i dont want it to be seen as that, its I am happy staying as an =(e)= rank, its just if I give it I would like to retain my admin powers without a clan promotion.
