Cannot connect to eGO bf1942 server

I have bf1942 fully patched to 1.61 and punkbuster is updated and 1942 was added to the game list. I can play on other servers, both with and without punkbuster without trouble, but joining the eGO server gets me a "Failed to connect to server" message.

Maybe the server isn't online or there is a problem with PunkbusterA/B. I've had problems with PunkbusterA/B messing with my gameplay on certain servers in Battlefield 2 Collection. Punkbuster sucks. Make sure your Anti-Virus & Firewall isn't blocking access to PunkbusterA/B because that's part of the reason why I was unable to connect to some servers. Also, make sure that Punkbuster A is running. The process should be called "PnkBstrA.exe"

Well, I think PnkBstrA.exe is the only program that should be running at all times when you open up Windows Task Manager. Before I go ahead & tell you how to get PnkBstrA.exe to run, I think you should get "PBSVC" from PunkBuster. It's a utility from PunkBuster that reinstalls PunkBuster from the ground up. I think you should try this before trying something else. Here's the download link. The actual download link is inside the text & is hyperlinked into the word "here". It was actually a long time ago when I first started tampering with PnkBstrA.exe so I don't quite remember how to do stuff with it but I do remember searching it up on YouTube & finding videos that helped a lot.

Note: After you have reinstalled PunkBuster, watch [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnm7QPhmWJ4&feature=related"]this video[/ame] for help on updating PunkBuster using a utility called "PBSETUP." It's a utility from PunkBuster that makes updating PunkBuster for games much much easier than manually doing it.

I installed that and it said it finished without any errors and I can't connect still. I don't think its a PB issue though since I can connect to other servers with PB enabled.


edit: I did whats in that video a 2nd time, after downloading the file you provided above it, going to try again

Hmm, does it directly say anything about PunkBuster in the error?

No, it just says that I "cannot connect to server", even when there was other people playing on it, I couldnt

I also get this message as well. I have no problem getting onto any other server.

First i would check that you have the right version, if not update.

Try this utility.

Also, make sure you have PB enabled, and the correct IP, including the extension :14567.

Yes its the right version, its only the eGO server that I have trouble connecting to. I even tried joining off the main server list, not by direct IP, and it fails.

Ahh, Frank brought up something that I forgot about. Make sure your ports are open for both Battlefield AND PunkBuster. Those can be found via google.com. Ports can be a real pain sometimes. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking anything that can be used by Battlefield/PunkBuster. Make sure your AntiVirus hasn't blocked off any files.

My games show 1.61b. I say patch to the latest patch.

Uhh, I think you misunderstood what I meant. Ports have to be opened (forwarded) for Battlefield, the game itself, and Punkbuster itself. They have to have a clear connection to the internet with nothing, not even something minor, blocking it at any point.

Make sure you add those to your firewall & your router.

Looks like the server needs to be updated to 1.6b.
