Is there any Hardware NEEDED? and so is it missing? i need a functional PC for Student and Gamer xP I might play CRysis, COD4, MW2, CSS, TF2, DOD:S, and alot other games.

I myself use the HAF 932 case, its awesome. that e8400 will probably run around 25-28c in that case at stock speeds. At least thats what mine ran at when i had one. Even cooler on a v8.

btw i saw ur specs, and thought i could come with some suggestion. when i bought my computer i bought these components. they all work good and the cooler is really good, i have low temperatures. the motherboard supports crossfire, so u can buy a graphic card and set them in crossfire. and last the ram i bought is very good, im thinking about buy another 4 gb of it

I have the G9 and I love it to death, if I ever need to buy a new mouse it will be the G9x. Don't know if that time will ever come, I've had the G9 since it was released

If you don't need hard drives or an OS or a monitor or a mouse or keyboard or disc drives then you can get:

(case) haf 932
(mobo) Asus P6T6 WS Rev.
(ram) Corsair Dominator 6gb (3@2gb ddr3)
(psu) 1200w modular 80+ silver
(gpu) xfx hd 5850 (the most expensive one)
(cpu) core i7 920
(cpu cooler) Noctua NH-D14 (probably best air cooler for i7 so far)

You can swap the hd 5850 for whatever the best nvidia one is if you want to go tri-sli in the future. That mobo supports tri-sli @ true 16x (which is hard to find). 1200w psu will support your future tri-sli or crossfire.

You can save money by cheaping out on the psu as long as you get a good one, doesn't even have to be 1200w. The mobo is amazing, but it runs $340, you can buy more within your budget on this one if you don't need all the amazing features.

Don't get anything lower than i7 920, or anything higher. The 920 is a really good cpu for the price and can easily be OC'd past the 975 stock speeds under optimal cooling conditions. Dual cores are old news, quads are in

I own this cooler. I must says it's quiet and it's keeps the CPU cool. Even when I'm playing WoW which is pretty CPU demanding. Use some AS5 (Arctic Silver 5) for the thermal compound and your golden.

well if you are waiting until april then either the 5870 will drop in price to be very competitive with the new 300 series, or the 300 series will blow everything out of the water enough to make that your GPU choice.

also i don't see your CPU listed, but i hope its something other than that sub-par dual core

You're spending $1350, and only getting 4 gb of ram and a C2D? I spent $1300 on my tower, keyboard, and mouse; I have an i7 920, 6gb 1600mhz ram, XFX GTX 260, 1tb hdd, deathadder mouse.

See what I'm getting at here? Granted I got my monitor seperately, which was $225, and my OS from my university ($10), but still. .

Do you have a current college email address or know someone who would let you use it to get the windows 7 college student deal? Its only $30 for home premium + $13 for a disk to be shipped to you house. So for $43 you can get a new copy of windows 7.

Id look into it, the deal ends Jan 5.

Also i would look into a gigabyte mobo instead. I had asus for awhile and the customer service on it was HORRIBLE. After that i have a gigabyte now and the bios is amazingly easy and i have yet to have a problem.

either way stick with gigabyte or asus, either shouldn't give you troubles - and personally if i had a 1300 dollar computer i'd have a 10,000 rpm velociraptor...but either way battling name brands is the least of his worries i think. if you don't have much experience with brands than its hard to pick a favourite
