I don't know if there's another thread on buying computers or whatever, but I do know not to pay for overpriced crap (Hi Dell, Falcon etc. )

Now moving on, for those of you who are thinking of purchasing a new computer or whatever else there's a deal on the i7 920s if you're near a Microcenter (this might be outdated). For those of you in the LA area (and surrounding locations): http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0302727

And for those of you who have no idea what I am talking about (WATZ i7 LIMZ - and who are you?! ): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomfield_(microprocessor)

Wow! Great find Limz! I've a MC just 10 minutes away, but I'm trying to not spend money until I can build a complete system.. but the bargain... Oooooo, tough decision >_<

It depends on what you are planning on doing with the CPU. if you can overclock then its really up to you. I have a 965 black and i love it but i would love to have an i7.

I love love love amd chips due to the bang you get for your buck, but the i7 920 is hands down better than the 965.

The 920 has been $200-$230 at MC for about 4-6 months now. MC has a pricing strategy where they price all of their processors very cheap in hopes of people coming their to buy the processor and just getting everything else too. Their video cards are notoriously expensive, and their motherboards and cases tend to be about the same if not a little more than newegg.

They also have the i5 at $150, and good deals on amd stuff too.

yea this is a pretty old find..........i've been recommending ppl to go to Microcenter for CPU's since like beginning/mid of last year

Microcenter has been selling i7 920/i5 750 and all the CPU's for cheaper since they came out pretty much

i5 750 = $150
i7 920 = $200
i7 860 = ~$200

The AMD's aren't as cheap and can be matched by Newegg i think but they are still pretty cheap
