Admin chat can be a very helpful tool... if you use it properly. Here are some tips on how to use Admin chat and how not to use it
Tip #1
It's called ADMIN chat for a reason
Wrong
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: Morning admins, guess what i had for breakfast?
Right
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: Hey, player1 is mic spamming on our team
Lesson: Use admin chat for administrating purposes.
Tip #2
Don't type in all caps and make your message clear
Wrong
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: OMG WTF THIS GUY IS BREAKING RULES HALP!!!!
Right
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: Player1 is cursing in team chat
Lesson: Using all caps while in admin chat makes your message seem more negative and impatient, while using lower case makes your message more calm and approachable. Also, the first message doesn't help the admin, because they won't know who you are talking about or what they are doing wrong. The second message is both clear and understandable for the admin
Tip #3
Let the admins handle the punks
Wrong
Player1: What the ****
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: Player1: What the ****
=(e)=? Member: LANGUAGE
Right
Player1: What the ****
After a while, =(e)=? Member notices that no admin action was taken with Player1
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: In case you guys didn't see, Player1 cussed in chat earlier
(ADMINS) =(e)=? Member: Player1: What the ****
Lesson: Honestly, an e's responsibility on the servers is to have fun. Let the admins handle the admining, and if you notice someone break a rule and slide by, just give the admins a heads up. There's no need for you to copy and paste the message in admin chat for admins to see again other wise, so make sure you give the admins enough time to take action before using admin chat.
Hopefully these tips will help you e's use Admin chat properly so that you can better help your server's admins.
