I'm not sure why you're so pro Foxconn, Their boards are nothing special when compared to Asus, EVGA or Gigabyte offerings... The sound card isn't a hardware solution, same idea as the cheap audio risers ASUS bundled with their ROG boards.

lol.......dont worry, im not going with Foxconn...just wanted to see which people preferred because i've heard good things from their recent boards and their current ones...they havn't been bad performers especially for the price


Anyone know much about like the EVGA P55 boards with the NF200 chip??? does Crossfire/SLI still perform worse on it than on an X58??

Yes, it is not as good as X58 in multi graphics cards setups, however, we are talking about just a couple hundred points in Vantage.
 
okay.........i have the option of getting either

P55 Classified 200
+
i5 750
+
4gb DDR3 1600 G.SKill ripjaws

or

X58 3x SLI
+
i7 920
+
6gb DDR3 1600 OCZ

Which would you think would be best for just gaming and for the price??

both will be OC'd to over 4.0ghz hopefully with an NH-D14

Im also guessing multi-gpu performance would be like nothing between the two because the P55 has the NF200 which though may be a bit slower is still a lot better than plain P55

lga 1156 will most likely have more upgrade options down the road as it is the "mainsteam" platform. Mainstream users> Enthusiasts (1366)
 
And im guessing hyper threading just isn't worth it just for gaming?? as i wont be doing things like photoshop where hyper threading is needed....

Just strictly gaming and with addition of multiple GPU's later on.....P55 Classified + i5 750 is the way to go??

I've heard the i5 750 doesnt OC so great?? true or myth??

I'd get an 860. Honestly, $80 for twice as many threads is more than worth it. No you won't get better FPS in gaming yet, but 2 years or so (maybe sooner) from now you will(when games use 4 threads, you'll still have some left over for background stuff). It's more future proof.

I5 750 and i7 860 can both get near 4.0Ghz relatively easily.
 
Oh, I wouldn't get the EVGA P55 Classified unless you want to do extreme overclocking (5.5-6Ghz+ with extreme cooling, IE phase change, liquid helium, etc). You could just get the EVGA P55 FTW 200 instead.

The X58 is coming out cheaper than me trying to get an i7 860 with the high end mobo...........i guess ill just go i7 920 with a 3x SLI EVGA :P
