Okay, so I've been trying to see which video card is better. Right now I have the nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB in my computer right now, and I also have the nVIDIA 8800 GTS OC 320 MB. (pretty sure its that MB) Now I know memory can make gaming a whole lot better but with the 512 MB when playing CSS, DoDS etc. I would have everything on high, expect the Antialiasing mode would be at none, and the Filtering mode would be at Trilinear.. While with the 320 MB video card everything would be on high, and the Antialiasing mode would be at 4x MSAA, and the Filtering mode would be at Anisotropic 2X.. Does having those options different really make a difference to the game? Just wondering because I would like to know which video card is better in the long run..

My Specs are:
AMD Athlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+
2.20 GHz
2 GB of RAM
Windows XP Home

Thanks!

ps. Would overclocking my system be a good idea? If so how would I (bad idea doing so if not knowing how correct?) I do have nTune but only mess with the video card fan during the summer.

The 512MB version is better than the 8800gt, 320 and 640MB versions.

Edit: Do NOT use Ntune, Rivatuner or EVGA Precision is a much better way to go.

if the GTS gets you better settings and your happy with the FPS your getting then use that.

actually i guarantee your cpu is bottlenecking your gpus. so both probably perform the exact same, but the 8800 gt 512 is better.
my 4400+ was bottlenecking my 8600 GT with all games but mostly noticed it with CSS. once i upgraded i went from 30-70fps (most low/medium settings) to 150-250 (everything full). so the only way you'll really see a performance boost in those games is by getting a new cpu.

and before you overclock you should really read up on it...and im talking EXTENSIVELY. knowledge is power, and in this case being smart is smart so you don't fry your comp guts

The GTS's memory bandwidth is higher while the 8800GT has the more powerful chip, so performance will vary depending on settings.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing my CPU is kinda outdated and been thinking about boosting it up a little bit. Also with the overclocking I know what you mean. I know A LITTLE about it but not too found with it. haha :)
