ok so i really want to build a computer just for fun soo what our all the items i will need to put in the computer i know people will say just buy one i really just want to build it and say i did that =)

Buy a iMac. XD

Um, could we get a rough budget? I mean, anyone could suggest stuff from $600-$60000 really.

Motherboard, processor, case, hard drive, RAM, network card, graphics card, sound card, DVD drive, heatsink, all those miscellanious wires you need, screws.

I'm sure I left something out. Someone else will reply soon I'm sure :p

tnx i really just need ALL the basic components doesnt matter wat kind of brand tnx xsimon

You don't need a bunch of those things
Sound Card or Network card as all motherboards have built in chips for those. You won't get much of a benefit for from buying a separate card for either unless you have a amazing sound system or a amazing internet plan
Screws and wires aren't needed as they should all come with the case and powersupply.
Heatsink-unless you plan to overclock, if you don't plan to overclock no point in getting one because one already comes with a CPU.

You need a powersupply, that big metal box with the power wires, it's required and never skimp out on a cheap one.

This.

True, most pc's do have that in the motherboard now.

My old pc has a network card -.-

And motherboard sound cards never go over well with me :/

You don't want to skimp out on a power supply, motherboard, CPU, CPU cooler, and RAM. I'm a big believe in reliability and safety. And if an aftermarket cooler will provide me that, I'm willing to pay more just to be sure I have better than what's the bare minimum.

Video isn't as important but you will need a good one for gaming. ATI has their new 5 series out and they're pretty cheap. nVidia will be coming out with new cards in March also. Take your pick.

Motherboard
Power supply
Processor (CPU)
Memory (RAM)
Graphics card (GPU)
Hard drive(s)
Case (to put it all in lol)

Get those and your computer will turn on!

Non-essentials:
Optical drive (dvd/cd/etc)
Keyboard
Mouse
Monitor
Sound card (onboard is okay if you get a nice motherboard)
Speakers (if not included in monitor, or you jsut want better sound)

oh and wats a better cpu for gaming amd or intel

Intel is better for gaming, the I7 processors are the most powerful right now. AMD is catching to Intel but not as powerful. AMD is a lot cheaper though.

If you want a very low cost CPU, it's a very split decision between AMD and Intel. Intel's new i3 chips are very comparable when overclocked to their i5 counterparts. While AMD's perform well too, overclock well and can be turned into a quad (You have to be lucky on the last one)

I wouldn't suggest an I3 if he is wanting to future proof the computer. The I3's are dual cores, and a lot of games now are starting to advantage of all 4 cores in quad cores. If your wanting to save money but still get a decent quad core processor go with a cheap AMD Phenom II x4 or a AMD Athlon II x4. If your willing to spend the extra money for better performance get an Intel I5 or I7.

I suggest going with a AMD processor and saving money to spend on a good graphic card.
