Hey
Blame David
Apologies for the delayed response and explanation. You were online when this change was made and it was not fully explained at the time, likely leading to this post.
The three tags in question were removed due to violating our
Code of Conduct. Specifically this section outlines:
Content and Conversations involving political, religious, news, societal, nudity, or any other inappropriate topics are prohibited.
These tags fall under the societal part of the Code of Conduct. While Edgegamers Leadership does not have any issue with anyone expressing themselves, we want to ensure a safe environment for all of our Members. The tags have content in them that could lead to arguments, disrespectful remarks and uninformed opinions. Unfortunately not everyone who plays on our servers or interacts with the community are accepting individuals. We do not want anyone to be attacked for expressing themselves or have anything cause an issue in game. We are purely focused on being a safe gaming environment and the tags do jeopardize that mission.
I take responsibility for this situation because the tags were originally added by request and I was ultimately just trying to appease the playerbase so the community could grow. However, what I didn't realize was that eventually they would have to be removed. Obviously this would upset those who used those tags and had gotten used to them. I apologize for this.
These tags are not going to be added back. However if you have any suggestions for other tags you would like to be added that fall within our guidelines you can make a post under suggestions or reach out to me on Discord.
I am also going to be closing this post as the decision is
final. There should not be any further discussion or posts made about this topic.
Closed.
