Alright guys, so here's the deal. I've got a Creative X-Fi Extreme Sound Blaster card, and it's worked pretty well for a good while. It's about a year old now, I reckon, and now I'm havin' troubles with it. I've got a X-540 5.1 Speaker System by Logitech.
At first, I noticed the center channel was no longer playing any sound. If I set my speakers to matrix mode (mono for all speakers, I believe it is), the center speaker would play sound--but otherwise, nothing. So, deciding not to bother with it, I set my sound system to 4.1 and left my Center speaker alone, and went back to my games.
Well, over time, I eventually noticed my rear speakers weren't working--but instead, something peculiar was happening. Regardless of whether my sound system was set to 5.1 or 4.1, if I played sound out the rear channels--they would both play out through my center speaker. Even with both rear speakers unplugged, the center speaker would still play sound from the rear channels.
I just reinstalled my drivers, only to find no change. What do you think may be my problem, and my best plan of action?
