New mouse?

My current mouse is on its last legs (laser?), so I'll soon be in the market for a new gaming mouse. I do FPS, as well as MMOs, so I'm looking for a mouse with a good amount of buttons, at least 5, while still having nice response and action for shooters. What's everyone using? Suggestions?

Logitech G9x offcourse Only a bit expensive.
If you want a bit cheaper one go for the Logitecfh G500.
or the GM-4600 Trust Mouse.

Friend of mine has that mouse! Little wide for my taste, maybe. And I remember it being heavy. And not that expensive, after looking at Razer mouses, that's about average.

I'm not a fan of razer mice... at all. There is no need to go 4000 dpi on a mouse for a fps game like TF2. I have the logitech G5 gaming mouse, and its pretty awesome. Changable weight, 3 lvl setting (G9 has 5 settings for changing speed, and a changeable grip) Which is pretty nice to have. Just some food for thought

Oh, and my suggestion is.... a stock mouse!!! Has never let me down in the years I've owned it , its got three buttons (left, right, scroll wheel), and thats all I need . Left to shoot, Right for special, Middle Mouse Button to pull out melee and attack until I release (then does previous weapon), scroll up switches to primary, scroll down switches to secondary, it is made of win!

The Deathadder is a pretty good mouse for FPS. I have the old one which has lower DPI than I like.

I think the most important thing for mice is ergonomics. I'd suggest you go to your local store like best buy to see how to you like the mouse shape/weights etc. and decide.

i use a razor boomslanger due to needing a lefty style mouse w/precision..and most non razor precision mice are designed as righty.. so..if you are a righty,,don't go boomslanger..

also,,the boomslanger suks on glass mice pads...had to switch to an older pad...the normal razors seam fine on the glass though

Um... I recommend the "Razer Orochi".
It is great.
-BlueTooth
-2 buttons on each side

It is awesome if you don't mind...
-lower than average battery life
-a little smaller then you would think (once you get used to, its fine)
- The bluetooth (if you don't have bluetooth, dont get! EXTREMELY SHORT CORD!) EXTREMELY!

I use the Razer Deathadder 2.0 (The new one with 3.5G sensor, and 3500 DPI) on a Razer eXactmat, speed side. I used to have the old Deathadder, but I think it was about time I upgraded.

I highly recommend you getting a Razer mouse, or any Razer mouse for that matter. Good stuff - and pair the Razer mouse with a eXactmat or a Destructor - it'll be beast.

Im tempted to get a mouse once i get some money as well.. Im using this worthless "aqua" mouse my mother got for free from her company ever since my original (came with the comp) mouse died. Here are a few ive been looking at:

Razer Deathadder is what I use, the older generation. It works fine without a mousepad, and it's an overall very smooth mouse with easy configurations.

Good for gaming, work, anything really.

The m500 isnt worth it just go with a G500, the g9 just feels weird to use.

I use the G5. Major difference between the G9 and G9x is some extra DPI in the x. For the money, go for the original.

i use the kudos gaming mouse in black. it goes up to 5000 dpi. so really fast . i can also make several macro's with it, it is a very good and smooth mouse, only a bit hard to get because the mouse is made in germany orriganly.
