Need help with itunes plz help

hey i need help with itunes, its saying that it cant find my music. when i try to play a song a thing pops up and says " the song _______ could not be used because the original file could not be found. would you like to locate it?" . i have no idea what to do just yesterday it worked but now it doesnt. and i just bought a new ipod and im still waiting for it to be shipped to me but i want to make sure that i can get my song on that ipod. when i try to locate the song theres nothing in the files. i called apple to get help and they couldnt help me because the ipod i have now was given to me as a gift and is not in my name and the warranty is up so i would have to pay them to help me and there website is no help. so i thought i would come to you guys for help because i know a lot of you guys know what your talking about and can help me.

uh. if you click "yes" when that comes up, you can manually find it. it gets annoying but it'll do the trick.

either that, or just go to "my music --> then itunes music" and simply drag all your music folders into a playlist in itunes again.

If you really need help, you can PM me or just find me in vent.

EDIT: oh i just reread your post. haha. make sure you're looking in the right folders. Usually it's in your itunes folder and then separated by artists from there.

If its not there, which has never happened to me personally, but you gotta make sure that you didn't accidentally delete them or something. but if you have your music backed up on a external hardrive or something, this is where it comes in handy.

other than that, i'm sorry dude, i don't know where your music went.

i really don't mind itunes honestly. personal preference i guess

i use both, the one thing that irks me about winamp is the fact that i have trouble playing m4p's (songs that i bought off of itunes). but i finally found a plugin that will let me! wooo!
