I was tired of/annoyed by the based-on-number-of-kills ranking system (that is virtually meaningless really) that exists in the stats right now. Sooo...today I had some free time so I decided to make a new one.
Ranks are directly taken from US Army ranks. Since there are not 1,090,000 eGO members as there are people in the US Army, it became difficult to make "our" system as close to the US Army as possible, seeing as how if I did it based on the same percentages (each specific rank compared to all ranks total), where the US Army has 321 generals total we would have about...an eighth of a general. lol Anyways, I took the same ranks, in the same order, and just assigned somewhat-arbitrary (though you will see pattern) numbers of each, less of each rank the higher you go up. The only exception to this is from Lieutenants to Sergeants. Since Lieutenant and above are officers in real life (and admins in my system), while Sergeants and lowers are enlisted (or e's), I started the "pyramid" system over again at this point. You'll see what I mean when you take a look.
How did I come up with the ranks though, you wonder? Simple. I just took players' scores (all stats taken off of the site at approx. noon EST) and then added 10 points for every hour of gameplay. This way, it is a skill-based system, BUT sheer seniority can still affect it. Some people will get most of their points off of this "gameplay" adjustment, but most of it does come from skill. Either way, I felt both were important to take into consideration when ranking people.
As previously mentioned, enlisted are all of our e's. Officers are eG's and eGO's (eG's cannot be any higher than Colonel though). The very highest of the command structure is taken directly from the "Leadership Roster" on the homepage, not based off of anything else but this.
That's about it. I will post all (active--showing in the e, eG, or eGO clans as of this morning) players by rank in the following posts. Any questions, feel free to ask. Enjoy!
