im confused. i think i did what u wanted. i switched the sata from the cd drive tothe hdd and hdd to cd drive. but sme issue occured

No, were talking about switching the SATA cable from the HDD to another port on the motherboard that isn't being used.

FIXED IT THANK U! drop boxing for tech help guru. but i have one more delema. it was a wire problem, but the new wire wont reach where the hard drive sits but will to the bottom of the case. can i let my hard drive sit on the bottom?

No problem

And newer hard drives have a plastic shield on the bottom, but I wouldn't recommend having it sit on the bottom like that. You could probably stop by a local computer store and pick up a longer SATA cable for pretty cheap.
