Network Speed

I checked my network's status and it said its speed was 54.0 mbps. Meanwhile, my download speed only downloads at a slow 300 Kbps. Is there a way to speed up the downloading process?

if its torrents and such make sure u open ports or add ur ip to the dmz option on most routers!!! hope it answers ur question

Your network's speed (i.e. shown within windows in network connections) is the speed of the network, which is just from your pc to the router (i.e. within your house) to get your actual internet speed use something like http://www.speedtest.net. If this is significantly lower than what your ISP is selling you contact them, otherwise its probably on the 'server' side, just make sure your programs are configured correctly.

When you DMZ, you expose ALL ports to the Internet.
You're better off opening ports individually.
