I used to enjoy the Mesa, before everyone discovered they could rack up points by camping vents, and do nothing that encourages teamwork.

Oh, and then post their scores on the forums and try too look pro.

Agreed x100

Who can't stand Black Mesa?

No, you are not the only person who cannot stand it. when i would tell people that it is a terrible map, they'd just yell at me and tell me it's just cause ive never played it. so a few weeks agoi started playing it and i hate it even more.

the map has no flow to it, there are to few full health packs, and for some unknown reason the end points take more time to capture than the middle points. that's just bass ackwards, and because of this the map turns into a stalemate. In the maps defense i just hate maps that end in stalemates.

and finaaly, i cant stand it when i see 4 or 5 ego serves completely dead, and i hope in blackmesa and there are 12 to 24 eG-eGO's on blackmesa, and then when i ask them to help seed another server, they say no.

So no, you are not alone

Don't let Beaver catch wind of this post or it may.. ASPLODE! lol but whats wrong with poor little mesa? ='(

Well thank god.

I dunno why, I just can't stand it. Theres like no teamwork involved and a buncha demo spam =P

Blackmesa is more of a hang-out server, a place to chit-chat with fellow egoinites. Very fun to drop in from time to time and say hi. Definitely not a place to try and have a real team-oriented match.

True indeed

i think if you changed your expectations about bm you would have more fun. i vent camp with a targe demo. next to vent camping with a lucksman sniper it is the most fun i've had playing tf2.

of course, i don't care much for teamwork.

That's odd. I think you could give Turbine the same description. Except there's not as much vent to go around.

Turbine's a good map. It isn't so camper-friendly like Blackmesa, which unlike Blackmesa, the match actually gets somewhere. As said earlier, the mid point (A) caps pretty fast, yet last point of either side captures the slowest. I hate it, and it's so camper friendly. There's more action happening around in Turbine than that of Blackmesa.

In Blackmesa, no one cares about capping points. Let's have the round end in stalemate, and just camp the vents as a demoman or a huntsman sniper, or a Heavy with a medic. They sure are credit to team.

If we had maybe a good CP map rotation (cp_well, badlands, freight, follower, etc) I would seed that server whenever I can, and play in it whenever we can. But we don't. My only other alternative is CTF if that isn't present, so Turbine takes that. X instant respawn doesn't count for me.

Don't know if it's changed much at all because I haven't played it recently, but there was a time where I spent many, many hours on Turbine. All it was was this: BLU vs RED. Either BLU or RED is stacked. Stacked team takes mid, sets up about 4 SGs on the boxes and battlements, stickies the garage door, vent, and Z hallway, and vent camps other team. Non-stacked team turtles in intel room and blows uber after uber until a sentry or two goes down (because the insane knockback of all of the sentries combined makes it difficult to press forward without more than one uber) and if the people had started leaving, some players get autobalanced until the other team has taken mid an hour later.

It was like that yesterday. However, it didn't take an hour to take mid because the team that I was on actually got their act together and started pushing out with multiple ubers at once, (I remember I was ubered as a Soldier for anti-personnel, while we had an uber demoman ubered to take on the SGs) and the rest of the team tried to help and push out. We took mid, cap'd their intel, etc.

While the above said is rare, it does happen. What you've said does happen the majority of the time in Turbine, but for some reason whenever I'm present, the "miracle" above actually happens, and we no longer have like 4 snipers or spies. A lot more than what actually happens on Blackmesa though..I wouldn't call it a real CP map if the final point captures so slow.

I'd rather be camped than to endure the boringness that is Mesa. I don't understand what's the fuss about that map anyway. And I've spent hours trying to like it, but I simply just don't.

I think your opinion of mesa depends on your class. When i was a spy all i would play was mesa its an amazing spy vents. i was know well for camping enemy spawn leading them into the vents and stairstabing. now that ive moved on and hardly ever ever play spy i find it harder to get into mesa. i used to be a solo spy. now im a team soldier. i like winning and doing things if i wanna death match i will go ammomod or duel server but when i play i wanna cap points or intel or whatever.
AGREE 10000000X Kunai please baby jesus grant ego a 5cp rotation server. gran, blands, frieght, follower, yukon. (well sucks) it would be GOLDEN

Its improper english to have I and Don't and Like and Blackmesa in the same sentance

I dont like black mesa..GravelPit ftw = =

This^

Nothing wrong with Blackmesa, it just gets repetitive. A lot.

Your Preachin to a Choir BROTHA! And i made ur sig :)

All of this. Don't get me wrong, I used to spend my every waking TF2 moment in V2T3, but then I discovered Gravel Pit. Its not that I can't stand it, I just like the Pit O' Gravel more.
