I'm just wondering really, I feel like if you find an artifact of some kind, it isn't really "yours" but I guess it is. I feel like the Smithsonian can take it away or something weird...

Technically it is your item, but sadly you would probably be pressured to surrender the item to a museum or for scientific research.

Small meterorites hit the Earth every day... most of them are just boring ol' lumps of rocks..
