Anyone else here who would like to see this gun "toned" down for the purposes of game balance?
Personally I feel they should reduce the accuracy of the gun. As it stands now, I feel it is completely overpowered relative to the rest of the weapons in the game, and allows medics to "lonewolf" because of its effectiveness. Medic is by definition a supporting class, but the M60 can put them at the front lines.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.
I don't believe the M60 itself is overpowered, I DO, however, think that it's ease of access/usage is overpowered though.
On my brother's account I was raising his medic score to get the unlocks and using just the PKM. I'm at the point where I can consistently keep the gun at a straight line dragging it along a player's character and headshotting quite frequently as well from quite some distance. This is w/o 4x/RDs/accuracy buff/etc...
But then i get the M60 and i can load up 4x/rds/accuracy or whatever and it's just retardedly easy to use; which is why i think a bunch of people use it and why people think it's so overpowered; it's just simply too easy to use. The recoil is basically nothing unless you're spraying... which works... sadly.. due to it's relatively high accuracy. solution: increase recoil per bullet(s) fired, decrease overally distance accuracy, lower power (would hate to see this), increase or decrease rate of fire (increase would imply more recoil per second/click; decrease would improve accuracy but lower power in terms of balance)?
Another potential argument for the reason that the M60 itself isn't OP is the magnum ammo... I only know of a few people who don't run with magnum, i certainly do with most of my setups; it's almost a needed addition to most guns to make them viable; perhaps the M60 is ok w/o magnum, but with magnum it becomes overpowered? solution: remove magnum from M60 upgrades?
I dunno really; i don't believe the weapon itself is the problem. I seriously think that the magnum ammo should be removed and maybe give the M60 a small boost in recoil to prevent such an easily controllable burst. PKM is probably the closest comparison to M60 (in the game...), and i think the M60 should have better accuracy than the PKM, but slightly more recoil to compensate, while keeping it's current power.
