Article ITT I attempt to review every movie I've seen.

Mike Judge's material has... crumbled since Office Space.

King of the Hill lost its charm a year or two into the show for me. Idiocracy isn't something I'd go out of the way to see but I'll leave it on when it comes on Comedy Central if there isn't anything more pressing. But The Goode Family, in its 13-episode streak, was the most bland and unfunny thing I've seen on Comedy Central in a long time. AND THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS TO COMPARE IT TO.

I missed Extract at the recommendation of friends for the same reasons.

Well King of the Hell went on way to long. I'd say it have a good 5 or 6 seasons, but after that...there really wasn't much more that one could put Hank Hill though. I didn't see the Goode Family...on purpose. The show looked terrible. Extract on the other had I haven't seen, but I actually want to see it. I like Jason Bateman and would be game to watch him in pretty much anything.

The Animation Show is one of the best thing Judge has done, though it was in tandem with Don Hertzfeldt. The worst thing I think Judge is capable of is restarting Beavis and Butt-head, which is exactly what he's doing.

i really got tired of south park id say after the 1st or 2nd season. true, their material is fresh, but i just dont like the direction in it. when i heard bout the movie version of south park, i made sure to stay away from that. when i heard bout this movie, i watched the trailer & seeing how dumb it looked, i stayed away from it as well. now those guys did make a great movie w/ BASEketball.

Haven't seen BASEketball...or at least all of BASEketball. I've caught bits and pieces of the film over the years.

Title: The Social Network
Year: 2010
Country of Origin: US
Director: David Fincher

Story: A movie that charts the rise of Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg from a student at Harvard to a multibillionaire entangled in multiple lawsuits.

Review: I've been waiting for this film to come out for quite some time. You see, I really like David Fincher and so far he has only proven himself as one amazing director. The Social Network is no different, Fincher does an amazing job in the directors chair and he manages to craft one of the sleekest and smartest films of the year. There has been a lot of hate about this movie...I don't know why though, possibly because it has to do with Facebook. The thing is, the film isn't all that flatter to its subject matter. Zuckerberg is portrayed to be a massive a-hole, which may or may not be true.

If fact, there is a pretty good chance that the film isn't all that accurate...the script writer Aaron Sorkin stated "I don?t want my fidelity to be to the truth; I want it to be to storytelling," adding, "What is the big deal about accuracy purely for accuracy?s sake, and can we not have the true be the enemy of the good?"

Overall, I have to say that this is an entertaining film, that features good performances, great writing, and excellent direction. If you need something to do this weekend...then give this film a shot.

After getting into it about politics and other junk... Finaly asking the guy where the hell he was getting his information he brought up Zeitgeist.... After trying to explain with logic to the man I started to bash my head into the nearest wall.
He threw another "movie/documentary" at me but I forgot the name of it.

Anyways can you do a review of Americathon?

It's the movie I told him to watch :P

The other movie was probably Loose Change or something like that. It's pointless to argue with someone who brings up Zeitgeist as a reference...at least that what I've learned over the years.

Unfortunately I haven't seen Americathon.

Get Him to the Greek, just finished it and felt like it was the Hangover. Where most people thought it was hilarious, while I thought it was alright.

Title: Case 39
Year: 2009
Country of Origin: Canada/US
Director: Christian Alvart

Story: Another demon child movie.

Review: The production for this film began in late 2006 with a slated release date of early 2008. But it wasn't released in 2008 nor did it receive a US release in 2009, no it was finally released fourth quarter 2010. For those who aren't catching my drift...this is not good sign when a movie is shelved for this long. Case 39 is a crappy movie and lacks pretty much any redeemable quality. Skip this one.

Title: Date Night
Year: 2010
Country of Origin: US
Director: Shawn Levy

Story: It's like North By Northwest...but minus Cary Grant and all the intrigue.

Review: Date Night is a film that had tons of potential, just the set up for the film is ripe for comedy. The film though doesn't really capitalize on many of it's own comedic set ups, which could have worked in the films favor. Instead we are given an entertaining film that has some pretty good jokes, but overall feels disappointing. The film is actually worth watching and if you were at all interested in to from the trailer, give it a view.

Title: The Grudge
Year: 2004
Country of Origin: US
Director: Takashi Shimizu

Story: Greyish ghost kills people in gruesomeish ways.

Review: I haven't seen the right...and I don't really ever intend to, so The Grudge was my first encounter with a Japanese to American horror remake. I have to say, this movie isn't half that bad. Sure it might not be the most inventive horror movie ever made or the most coherent film, but it had some good scares. Nor is it as bad as some of the later remakes, like Pulse or One Missed Call.

Title: Inside
Year: 2007
Country of Origin: France
Director: Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury

Story: The night before a woman is scheduled to give birth she receives a knock at her door by some one who really wants her baby...yeah.

Review: This and Martyrs are two of the most infamous horror films to come out of France as of late. Inside is basically your standard slasher film, except way more violent and far more disturbing. The film is relentless once it gets going and has some of the stomach churning scenes I've ever seen. It's an effective horror movie and if you're into gore and the such, then this film just might be right up your alley.

I didn't see this movie on the index: The Univited (2009)

I rented it last night and plan on watching it today. Just wanted to see a review for it possibly. :3

Have a nice day.

Title: Walker
Year: 1987
Country of Origin: US
Director: Alex Cox

Story: The story of how William Walker became the 5th president of Nicaragua.

Review: William Walker has to be one of my favorite historical figures. I've actually written a couple papers on him, that's how much I like him. So how does the movie stand up?

Well...ehh...it does well...I suppose. The film isn't really about William Walker, but more of the whole Contra affair in the 80's and U.S intervention in South and Central America. According to Wikipedia, Walker, is categorized as an Acid Western and quite frankly, that is an accurate description. The whole movie has the weird dreamy feeling, with a weird score and enough slow-mo violence to rival a Peckinpah film. This one is hard to recommend and there is a massive contingent of people out there who dislike this film. Cox basically got blacklisted by Hollywood after this film because of reviews an box office performance. I did like this though and I feel that this film is worth giving shot if you're feeling adventurous.

Title: The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
Year: 2009
Country of Origin: US
Director: Troy Duffy

Story: A movie that is so freaking retarded that it deserves it's own social worker.

Review: I'm sorry about all the nasty things I said about the original film, it is a masterpiece in comparison to this pile of crap. Everything is wrong with this movie...that's right everything. The script is terrible, the story is s***, and the acting below sub-par. A large portion of the films mechanics seems to be ripped right out of the first film. It's as if Duffy didn't have any new ideas and decided to cannibalize his first film. What really cooks my goose about this film is that Troy Duffy had a decade...that's right a freaking decade to work on this script and everything plays out like he got really drunk one night and wrote this script. There is no redeeming value in this film and if you ignored all the history behind this one...then it'd come off as a very low rent Guy Ritchie knock off.

Overnight.jpg

Title: Overnight
Year: 2003
Country of Origin: US
Director: Tony Montana & Mark Brian Smith

Story:...while I'm on the subject of Troy Duffy.

Review: This is the movie that chronicles the rise and fall of Troy Duffy after he heads to Hollywood. The basic gist of the story is that one day Duffy sees someone get murdered outside of the bar that he works at, he is distraught and seeks an outlet for his emotions. He soon writes a script for a movie, which he and his friends think is pretty good. So he heads out to the Sundance film festival to shop the script. Duffy found a buyer at Sundace, the Weinstein brothers (Pulp Fiction), who purchased the script for $300k and promised to finance a film with a budget of $15m. Only once Duffy got to Hollywood, things began to fall apart, the Weinsteins refused to return his calls and he was left high and dry.

So...yeah, Duffy got screwed. But instead of taking this gracefully...he sort of hulks out on everyone he knew and by the end of the film alienates a good portion of his friends and family. It's an interesting tale of a person's meteoric rise and fall. So if you have interest in Hollywood politics or Troy Duffy, then give this one a watch.
