I am an old-time member of eGO, but I haven't played since like September of last year because I moved out to Utah for school. So I try downloading the SteamInstall.msi file from the steam site, gets to like 35% and stops. So I'm like hmm that's weird, so let's try going to another site. I try fileplanet, fileshack, and a multitude of other mirrors and every single one does the same exact thing. I went and talked to my apartment managers to ask if there was some kind of block on the internet to keep people from downloading games, since it is a student housing complex, and they said there isn't one. I've tried it on two separate computers and it does the same thing. My firewall is turned off and everything, but it still does it. Any suggestions? I want to start playing again since I'm out of school now and I have a couple months until I go to Basic Combat Training for the army and I'm trying to find something to play other than WoW haha.

Hi Punch2Face,

I have provided a download for you from Rapidshare:
[ame]http://rapidshare.com/files/377820390/SteamInstall.msi.html[/ame]

It is the exact copy from the STEAM Site itself.

If you can not download this as well I'd say there is something blocking your network.

Yeah I don't know what's going on. It's pissing me off though. I don't know if it's because my internet doesn't like the .msi filetype or something but it just won't download.

What do you mean stops? Is there an error message? Is it always at 35%?

Nah, no error message. I'll post a screenshot of what it looks like. What it will do is start the download at about 800 kb/s approx., then get to like anywhere from 33-45% and slow down to 15 KB/s and just hold there and not do anything indefinately. I've let it sit for an hour and came back and it was in the same spot with the same "download speed" that wasn't downloading.

Perhaps it's a daily limit? Have you let it run overnight to see what happens?

Edit: I realize your apartment manager said there was no limit, but it's my only idea. :(

I got it, Blasphemy e-mailed it to me in a zipped file and it let me do it haha.

Thank you for sharing this topic with us...
i was searching for this a for couple of weeks...

So did you fix it? If you didn't try Mozilla Firefox. Much more better than Internet Explorer.
