Contrary to popular belief, scrambling teams doesn't help the server. I used to think it did too, but I've seen it in practice and all that happens is people leave because the server got scrambled and the teams are STILL unbalanced. I wish it worked, but it doesn't.

lol, thats why we removed scramble. Anyway, what I was more referring to was during events the EC's practically have to bind a key to team scramble (doesn't really hurt it that much if its an event, because usually people stay through anything :P), since we don't actually have any servers with Hydro on it otherwise (Can't RTV to it and I don't think its on the rotation for valvemaps, even though its a valve map *tear*)

Anyway, I think that people should just give the map a chance, once you've played it through a few times so you know the stages a bit, and get two coordinated teams working together it can be an extremely fun map that is much more fastpaced and varied than any of the other Valvemaps. The couple servers I know that run it are almost always full (because there are no other servers that run Hydro).

We just played that map for the Late Night Fight on Friday. I never really hated it, yeah it can become a stalemate map, but so can Warpath and Blackmesa. Well, Dustbowl, Granary, and others are much more winable maps.

Eh i havent played that map in soo long...but i was never a fan of it to begin with lol..I like to stick to my Gravelpit :p

Its been so long i comletely forgot about this map. Its a pretty fun map but 2-fort trumps all excluding BlackMesa

This is from the valve developer's forum/ wiki
...hydro is unpopular on servers thanks to the number of stalemates it leads to. You might have trouble getting server operators to include your map in their rotation
Advantages
Very few are made so there's less competition
Can afford to experiment and try a variety of different ideas in one map
Disadvantages
Very difficult to balance four different areas against each other
Visual design difficulties
Very large
Which may be why valve doesn't make anymore

But as pet-rock said you need the server to be full of people that don't know the map, or it does stalemate, a lot.

As for me, I haven't played it on a full server in about a month (although i did get tc to help me RTV to it on the old valvemaps :) )

It's been a few months since I've played it. I always enjoyed it, It's a cool concept that no other map really uses. I think I may try to find some Hydro now.

6-12 months is winning, followed by 3-6, and bringing up the rear is 1-2 months
