Quiet CPU Fan Needed

The Noctua cooler that you listed Artimus is one of the best coolers on the market. It's also one of the quietest.

So, I take it you didn't build this computer? That could be a problem if a backplate is required. You may need to get some help from another person on installing that.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I'm thinking about one of these with the following concerns:

The compatibility specs state AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core (I assume AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 would be OK) but don't specifically say AM3.

This configuration, with separate fans and heatsink, is not something I've dealt with before and compatibility specs say that a "backplate" is required. That's scaring me a bit.

The 1st one there isn't worth it, the 212+ preforms better and is cheaper.

If you do go with noctua heatsink, I would get one of the 120mm ones rather than the 92mm one you listed. More surface area=more cooling

120mm noctua

I did build the computer, but as I said, I've only ever dealt with integrated heatsink/fan configurations. I'll get the Noctua.

Thanks again, everyone, for the advice. I love this community!!

My bad. You'll love that cooler. :)
