Little ninja update today:

Team Fortress 2

* Fixed players seeing cloaked Spies when they should be fully cloaked
* Updated the Homewrecker
- It now damages enemy sappers on friendly buildings
* Fixed items not displaying correctly while playing back a demo
* Badge hire dates now display the time in GMT

wow that is pretty lame, now you dont only have to worry about engies breaking sappers, but pyros as well. Sappers were already pretty weak, now they are super easy to break...Face palm.

I'm not sure I see your reasoning. This is good now, it allows more than just 1 class to be able to take on the spy!

What im saying is that the spy sapper is usually broken by the engi with 1 swing, and then he turns the wrench on a spy and crit kills the spy easy...I usually kill the engi and then his gun, now i not only have to do that, but I also have to kill the 4 other pyros flaming around the gun and using their hammer to break my sapper, ftw.

Huh?? The Spy already get's destroyed by most classes as is is...Unless they are good at playing Spy. I imagine that the Spy will probably eventually get a new sapper similar to that one mod that lets you throw them.
I think that Valve made it so the homewrecker destroys sappers because of the upcoming Engy update, since herds of Spies will probably follow the herds of Engies. That or they really are going to let the Engy build multiple sentries. Which I wouldn't doubt now since the multiple sentry glitch

ARRRGH, WHY VALVE WHY! i agree with Frisky on this development, spy either 1: needs a sapper buff or 2: needs a wrench nerf to compensate

Now hold on a moment. Spies are freaking out, and engies are loving it. But, I think we're all failing to look at one particular detail:

Why in the HELL would I, as a pyro, trade away my own ability to one-shot any flaming enemy that isn't a heavy for the ability to kill a sapper, if I, as an offensive class, just happen to be kicking around a sentry embankment when the engie isn't there? Better yet, why the hell would I whack the SAPPER if instead, I could flame and then one-shot the SPY? That just doesn't make any sense.

Yes, there have been times when I'm playing engie, There's a firefight around my gun in which I die, and then 3 of my teammates stand around my gun and watch helplessly as it's sapped to death. But, it still doesn't make ANY sense that a pyro would sacrifice his own damage output for the ability to kill sappers. In my head, this remains a trivial weapon.

That's why I don't use the axtiguisher, it's more humiliating to kill them with the fireaxe ;) It's too easy with the axtiguisher. :P

Still, I dislike so far what valve has done, but I will wait till the update is completely out to make my final suggestion. Who knows the spy still has 2 weapons (knife and sapper) that have yet to be updated, we may see another double class update *crosses fingers* but I doubt it.

Yeah i think this will upset the balance for a while... but i mean... so has just about everything Valve has ever done to update TF2...

people will learn to live with it or a few more updates will fix the problems. That's it. in the end TF2 is just one ongoing experiment, and we are the guinea pigs. when Valve makes a bad update and we see it, we'll complain and get more changed. We're pretty lucky Valve does what it does for this game and community.

but, yes, I do believe this update is a bit ill-thought out and pre-mature. but complaining won't make a fix come out sooner, unfortunately. :(

I'm happy. Nerfing the spah is always a good thing in my book. I don't really care about balance, I hate spies.

I'm not going to trade my axtinguish for a sapper destroyer. Life destroyer > imo

Also just to advertise, Nerfnow there is having a hilarious TF2 arc once again. Y'all should catch up.

Regarding the update, I'm actually liking this. It'll be a pain at first for any spies who try to sap stuff when there's a horde of pyros running around with hammers, wanting to kill sappers. After a little while things will get back to normal and you'll rarely see a hammer wielding pyro.

Engies + pyros = BFFs?

Still seems kind of like a niche update. It seems like finding pyros that actually do this will be as hard to find as pyros that will use their airblast to extinguish team mates or heavies that will throw sandvich.

Besides, spies will have plenty of engies to pick on soon :D
