I need help. I play day of defeat source and when I try and go into the 24/7 avalanche server when downloading it, it freezes on the version thing at the end. I have tried reinstalling it but nothing helps. If you can help please reply. Thanks.

download Ccleaner, www.piriform.com , run both portions of the program, restart your PC and see if the issue is fixed.

open your games list in steam, right click DoD:S, properties, local files, verify game cache

fixed - he was missing a custom decals folder, so I copied mine and emailed him a zipped copy.

no big deal - I'll help anyone out if I can - trying to get his fps up now, have him trying different rates.

Rates don't have any effect on FPS. It's all packets/latency.

he has a 100 ping, he should be seeing much more than 15-20 fps on an HD 4450 OC'd
