Old vs New Jail gameplay

Forest isn't coming back, "vanilla" rules aren't coming back, none of the super old jail stuff will be coming back. We are simply discussing splitting the server into two smaller ones with different maps on each of them, and whether it is a good idea or not. This isn't that hard to contemplate.

If you didn't want us to discuss, mostly wouldn't have put

One server would contain more of a laid back game style containing minigames.

The other server will contain more of a traditional style jail, based around the warden using a creative mind to come up with activities and the terrorists teaming together to rebel.


This decision has not been made final. We wanted to get a community opinion before any decisions would be made. If you vote, please make a post stating why you chose so.

40 players at once sometimes gets hectic and chaotic. Two servers with 20-24 players each could be easier to manage, get organized, and actually get some playing done. The best rounds I've ever had in jail are when there's only about 20 people actually online.

Allow me to clarify some things for everyone:

• Forest ISNT coming back
• Jail rules ARENT changing
• Jail rules will remain the SAME for both servers
• This thread WASN'T meant to argue over what maps go where

Can we please get along, just a little bit, and discuss what needs to be discussed.

I choose the old setup. Sometimes I just want to play CS:S while relaxing and whatnot. So when I feel like playing CS:S and relaxing the same time I can play the relaxed jail and still have fun with the community.

An old school server would make the game much better.
It would allow for more awesome old games to be played

I prefer the 40 slot jail than the 24 slots, it's boring playing with little people in the 24 slots and it just seems so different.

This is a great change and I am excited to see that we once again have two 24 slot servers.

From an admin perspective this is a lot easier to manage than the 44 slot. There is a lot going on and I believe having two smaller servers will make it easier on the admins having to sort through tons of "freekill" spam to find who really is and isn't breaking the rules.

I will also note that my next thought is purely opinion and that others thoughts may vary. I don't like joining a jail server that has more than 20-24 people in it. I would stay out of it because there is so much going on and it's easy for tempers to flare when you think you were unjustly killed. Personally I know it is easy for me to get frustrated and so it was better for me to stay away from the server until it had less people in it. Plus from my experience I have noticed some players just don't get along. Now, they can just go to the other one!

This is a great move and I am so excited leadership went forward with it. I think we'll see nothing but good things coming from it and our jail servers.
