I think you're missing the point.

The OP is somewhat excused, being an e and new around here. My original post was aimed at how threads like this are often in poor taste, so I commented on the high ping by said poster (rather than his expected response of people coming in to shower him with praise). However, it appeared I was too subtle. The OP completely missed the point.

In my second post, I tried to be a bit more blunt about the situation. Comments such as I regularly kill 20+ as a heavy are tiresome. The self-aggrandizing has become tiresome. The elitism has become tiresome (just take a look at your signature).

Now I'm tired. I'm gonna go have a piece of cake and some milk. Enjoy patting each other on the back while I'm gone.

You know, I quite enjoy patting other people on the back. I also enjoy being patted on the back. feels all warm and nice. So you know, in accordance with that, I feel only right to include you.

You, Opeth, are by far the best passive-aggressive troll on the forums. No competition. I fully welcome you to put that very sentiment in your sig.


Incidentally, I believe that you weren't really subtle there; you were blatantly ambiguous (oxymoron? perhaps). If you truly have a thing against this type of thread, SAY IT. How, if the op is young and inexperienced, will he possibly learn to not put these threads up if you comment on his ping?

If you don't like these threads, say "nice job and all, but usually we like to refrain from posting this type of thing". As far as I'm concerned, I actually enjoy them; I like to see the accomplishments of my fellow members.

I don't dislike you; as a matter of fact, I agree heartily with a number of your sentiments in past threads. I just tend to have an issue with the way you deliver those sentiments. On the internet, I find obviousness is better, because subtly invites misinterpretation, especially in forums like these.

Note I meant nothing against you personally there; just those posts, and the style in which they were composed.

Guys, you just have to understand that Opeth hates everyone equally and for no reason on top of that, threads which say "Look at me, Look at me" are probably one of his biggest pet peeves. Well, you just got learned.

Opeth and Dread are just trying to insert there intellect...but by both trying to out do the other they have both come across as forum trolling bafoons!
