Not Fair

Try forgetting about rank and just play the damn game.

This. Unless you are duelling for the top one position then usually it doesn't matter that much. Honestly, I used to get so angry at CS:S whenever I dropped out of the top 50 and now I absolutely don't care xD. I've noticed that I haven't been doing any worse and I've had so much more fun.

Ins is for when I need a game to relax and I still only have like 9XX or so points from all the TK I do. Ironically, I never forgive anyone that TK's me :P

The problem is that HLX rewards a different style of play that what is necessary to win a round. There are no rewards for suppressing enemies, no bonus points for getting kills from the Capture radius - or killing enemies in there. Hell, there's not even one for capturing a CP, much less being in the radius to try to capture or block.

Funnily enough, though, it works even worse on Dust_2, whose play-style matches with what HLX is trying to keep track of.

I have to disagree with Pimp daddy Smurf, though. Playing the game to win in such a way that benefits your whole team and caring about your rank are not exclusive. Playing in a way that emphasizes one to the exclusion of the other, for either side, is detrimental to the team. I like keeping track of my rank. Not because I care about being number one, or see it as some status symbol, but because it's a long-term challenge that I enjoy. I like trying to move up from 2.4k to 2.5k, even though the average enemy gets 10-15 points per kill on me, while I only get 2 on them. To keep even, it requires me to play smart (as I don't often like to hang back, play safe, and not help win the round), aim for the head, and get streaks. Even if somebody manages to get a 26-point kill on me - and it's happened before; he must have gotten a lot of team-kills on dust to get down to below 400 - all I need to break even is a 12-kill streak on 2-point (minimum) targets. If I can make that all headshots, that goes down to a 7-kill streak. It's more about working to improve myself against a system that grows ever more unfair against me.

Honestly, unless you're playing against retards, noobs, are a specific class on a specific map, or camping, that will never happen. I'd rather tk someone than lose 2x+ points from one death; and its made worse by the fact that its normally a total noob kill, where you die after 8-10 round alpha'ing your target, or by a noobtube, et.al.

Noob tube is a great way to score a 12+ killstreak. However, sometimes half of those kills happen to be TK's :)
