Try forgetting about rank and just play the damn game.

Try forgetting about rank and just play the damn game.

The problem is that HLX rewards a different style of play that what is necessary to win a round. There are no rewards for suppressing enemies, no bonus points for getting kills from the Capture radius - or killing enemies in there. Hell, there's not even one for capturing a CP, much less being in the radius to try to capture or block.
Funnily enough, though, it works even worse on Dust_2, whose play-style matches with what HLX is trying to keep track of.
I have to disagree with Pimp daddy Smurf, though. Playing the game to win in such a way that benefits your whole team and caring about your rank are not exclusive. Playing in a way that emphasizes one to the exclusion of the other, for either side, is detrimental to the team. I like keeping track of my rank. Not because I care about being number one, or see it as some status symbol, but because it's a long-term challenge that I enjoy. I like trying to move up from 2.4k to 2.5k, even though the average enemy gets 10-15 points per kill on me, while I only get 2 on them. To keep even, it requires me to play smart (as I don't often like to hang back, play safe, and not help win the round), aim for the head, and get streaks. Even if somebody manages to get a 26-point kill on me - and it's happened before; he must have gotten a lot of team-kills on dust to get down to below 400 - all I need to break even is a 12-kill streak on 2-point (minimum) targets. If I can make that all headshots, that goes down to a 7-kill streak. It's more about working to improve myself against a system that grows ever more unfair against me.
