Let me explain a bit. There was a time (before eGO) when all I played was Axis rifleman. Literally, I never switched classes, played map rotating servers and would stay K98 at all times. Those days are not too far removed from memory and I would absolutely say that K98 is my best and favorite class to this day. But, these days when helping to start up servers I definitely switch it up, play some assault, mostly support, but rarely Axis rifle depending on who else is in server and what weapons they are using.

The main point of this round-about explanation is that my objective stats for the Axis rifleman class are far from inflated. They are something that I am very proud of and the direct result of my style of play. That style of play being a very aggressive push forward to cap flags and win the game style. I mostly play Ava these days and I own that Allied 2nd flag and manage to charge down 1st street quite a few times as well. To take away my round wins:losses and objectives/hour is an insult to how I play the game.

Sure, I'm a good shot but there are probably a few better ones. Blue, Bill Clinton, and Soma certainly pop into my head in that possible category (even with my precious K98). And YSD and Ides are definitely a dynamic duo on Kalt. For me, it's not about being the best shot. I love jeod's comment because that is exactly what I strive for. My strategy might even verge on predictable because I'm not going to be sitting back getting that 4.0 kdr or watching the snipers nest trying to make sure one doesn't pop out of there. I'm pushing up, capping flags, and shooting the people in my way.

There have been plenty of times where I earned the "Most Area's Captured" award for the day while playing on full Ava/Kalt servers. Don't let the silly HLStats ranking tell you otherwise, I play to win rounds. Objective numbers a little inflated for my assault/support classes? Sure, who cares, those classes are just a fill in. Sheer number of objectives/wins overrated in my Axis rifleman class? No way:
Rounds won: 1,008 : Rounds lost: 155 (86.6% winning % cough w/o a buddy cough).
Captures: 4,402 / Hours played Axis Rifle Class: 119.6 (36.8 caps/hour cough kinda rivals that 22 caps/hr mentioned earlier cough).
Captures blocked: 375 / Hours played Axis Rifle Class: 119.6 (3.14 caps blocked/hour).

Was this a long post? Was this way too in depth for the fun eGO's finest discussions that YSD has been making over the past week? lol, yep and probably. And I don't take anything away from YSD, he has enough to worry about in these posts w/o people whining about stat whoring etc (and he can most certainly take a good natured ribbing), but I don't like when stats are undeservedly omitted from my favorite class. Bottom line: K98 class ftw. ;)

All I'm saying is if you guys think you're better than Ides, prove it...cause I know you're wrong. And he doesn't need me to rock, just that when we're on together we're unstoppable. He/we'd have the same comments about us if maybe some of the Kalt guys would get on and speak up. :P And don't be cheap like that and say that either of us "need a buddy" cause you've never won a game without help. Our help just happens to come from the same place a lot of the time. Don't be hatin' on our teamwork.



Again, if you guys are so good, let's see it. Nobody's stopped us yet.

As you should all know by now, this is my class. I live and die by the K98 and I pay attention to all of my fellow classmates (get it?!) That's why I pretty much knew who was going to be on this list well before I even began research on it. The research, as it turns out, only solidified by initial instincts, so I didn't have to change my preconceived notions hardly at all. With that being said, here it is, my Top 7:

1-3) =(eG)=? Ides of March & =(eG)=? YoSpankDawg - It's synergy, baby. This was very unique and I am going to catch a lot of flak for it, but here's the thing--usually when you see Ides, YoSpank is around too. Usually when you see YoSpank, Ides is around too. We always work together as one and, regardless of our opponents, are the storm of the century. Nobody who plays on Kalt (unless they are intentionally just trying to troll or be devil's advocate) can argue that--unless we're just goofing off--we don't have our way with things, generally individually, and without a doubt while playing together. Together we have won over 90% of our games (in fact we've only ever lost an average of two rounds a month for the last 10 months) and have about a 1.67 K:D ratio. Lately--ever since I got my new computer and off that dinosaur of a laptop--our combined K:D is over 2.00. This is despite doing more suicidal actions (i.e. running out into dual MG fire with sniper cover and nades laying on the ground just to take out the MGs) than anybody you will ever see. Regardless of the overwhelming odds, retreat is NEVER an option, so you will see us charge from bridge to enemy first, mowing down everything in our path, which has lead to our nearly 4 kills per minute (combined), 2 blocks per hour, and a completely unrivaled 22 captures per hour (11 cph each is tops anywhere). We have 2229-586 Domination/Revenges and our abilities are quite simply an extension of our quick reactions and high hit percentages. Combined...we have hit with 44.4% of our shots (11.1% headshots) and 54.4% of them zoomed (17.6% headshots) with the K98. Always ready to quick-switch to pistol, we've landed 26.2% of pistol shots (10.6% headshots). Finally, the difference between a good rifleman and a great one is the use of nades. We've combined to hit with 64.6% of rifle nades shot (3370 kills) and 81.6% of rifle nades thrown (4755 kills). While on the topic of nades, we make some shots that are still unable to be duplicated (the courtyard nade from the bridge, the Allied sniper house deflection nade, etc.) by anybody else and have pioneered many nade tactics that are now commonplace (various nade spams, multiple calculated drops, "Death from below", etc.) and still effective in the server. If you really doubt any of these claims, all I have to say is this: Bring it.





Disagree? Can you honestly argue that we're not the best? It's hard to separate us, but even if you ignore that we're pretty much always together and want to argue "not fair", even just vote for the Ides of March part of the duo. If you vote "Other", tell us who and why.

Ok YoSpankDawg, for me there is no debate at this time!
Blue and eve goes are the toughest riflemen for me. To be fair to you and Ides, I make this statement having played against you guys only once or twice. But, to be fair to eve goes and Blue, they fight one on one and do not team up like you and Ides. Big difference having a trained partner.

Versus the two of you tonight I had 18 kills and 7 deaths. I used the BAR, Thompson, and 50 cal with equal success. You guys were always where I expected you to be. So for me, no you are not the best that I have faced. To be honest, I do not even impress myself when I play well on the Axis side in Kalt. It is so much easier to pad my stats on the German side.
Also, I see only 6 guys on your list.

Ides is great, I don't disagree. As for who is better, I'll leave that up to whatever everyone votes.

The comments that I pointed out in my reply were not to say "omgosh SA is sooo good" they were to point out that I'm aggressive player who pushes up to cap flags and try to win the game. This was pointed out because all of my objective stats/wins were disregarded in your post. And they just happened to be the only objective/round win player stats that compare (favorably I might add) to the Ides (/YSD) #'s.

Sure, I've never won a game w/o any teammates playing 1 v 16. But I don't have a person shadowing my movements and cooperating constantly. Teamwork is great, I commend you guys for working together and I'm a bit jealous that I don't have someone to do that with constantly.

And lol, what do you want us to do to stop you exactly? As a fellow rifleman, am I supposed to bring you to a FF off server and shoot you guys? Or just join the Allied side (which is a lot different than also having a K98 for anyone included in this thread) on the server that you play constantly and try to beat you that way. And even if we did win more than you guys, I fail to see how that would prove that other people are a better Axis Rifleman.

We don't have "trained partners", we just like to play together. I have a 2.31 K:D. 1.5 kpm and over 10 wins (no losses) this week alone--no Ides--against legit players, and I am not even as good as Ides is. And as far as last night...you need to look at how the kills happened. It's true, I went 4-7 on you. However, the three times you killed me with the Thompson were all from behind while capping your second flag and destroying the rest of your team. The other four kills were with your MG at the end of a road so far back nobody can even see you in the shadows and then my four kills all being taking you out once I saw where your new hiding spot was each time. Any noob who knows how to press a mouse button can shoot a guy from behind while he's taking out the rest of a team or hide in shadows camping with a bullet hose, so don't go around all high and mighty like you accomplished or proved anything. All you did was prove that I am a team player as I sacrificed myself multiple times en route to leading my team to 4 wins and no losses when your team had far more positive K:D players than mine.

They do beat us easily. You know I left those numbers off for what happened in the other threads and accusations because I didn't want anybody to try and detract from your abilities. I think I made that pretty well clear to begin with as well.

Again, we don't always have somebody shadowing our movements or helping us--we're some of the best riflemen solo (see the start of what I wrote in response to Boyle). I'm just saying that when we do play together, we're damn near unbeatable.

We were testing out/checking fraps and mapping the map with just a few players on. I was bugging Kirk and asking your good buddy Red_Scorpion questions about it too in the process. Figured we'd kill you a few times while we were in there. We didn't know that our abilities would be summed up and encapsulated in that ten minute session of hardly trying and not-giving-a-damn or we would have cleaned house.

I apologize for killing people in game with only the silly excuse that I want to win. For all of you I shot from the backside please forgive me. YoSpankDawg plays by the old European rules, i.e. marching into battle exchanging volleys. Gosh darn I fight American style as in guerilla warfare. YoSpankDawg does not want honest opinions and reasons behind our opinions. Instead he wants us to kiss his a... and say he is the greatest. Well, in my opinion you are not. Also, if you want to argue with our opinions, then why ask us to vote with your name on the list.

So remember, only kill YoSpankDawg when he says it's ok, or he might berate you for inferior war tactics.

I know I am not the greatest. Ides is. In fact, he has nothing to do with this thread or anything I have written, so maybe I had better remove my name from it completely so as to disassociate him from any of my comments. I was just saying that Ides and I together easily are more than any other pair (in my original post). You didn't present things accurately in your post, making it sound like we were s***. You were just looking to win, and you decided that that style of gameplay was the best tactic. Admittedly, your team--chiefly you--was sitting and waiting for us to come and cap the second and then pouncing on us from behind as an, I admit, effective way to kill us.

In summary:
A) The most beneficial thing to your team's success was taking us out.
B) This was determined to be unachievable via fighting us head-on.
C) We still went 4-0.
