well guys, i got a problem. and its a big one. and i am getting very very sick of it. my pc, after formatting almost 12 times, still keeps giving BSOD's, errors, it laggs, after it has been running like 2 hours, its damn slow. i can't play anymore. if i play cod, the next thing i do, totally slows my pc down :o. i am sick of it. i found out that hp introduced a new pc. but it is a 64 bit. its supports to 8 gb ram. but my other pc is 32 bits. and only supports 3 or 4 gb. i would love to by this pc. but i was wondering, if u can run all the games (cod4, cod 5, cod6, cod BO soon, ... medal of honor allied assault and stuff,...) on a 64 bit system. my brother says it probably wont run. i think it can. but my bro knows lots more of pc then me. so i was wondering, who is right now ? any help will be appreciated :)

Tell your bro to do some research...

Windows 7 64-bit will run 32-bit games without any problems. I can tell you from personal experience. Besides being a Sys Admin, I run Windows 7 Pro 64-bit at home and play CoD4, CoD5, and any other game out there. I haven't run across a single game I couldn't play.

Don't worry, the 64-bit system will run any game you want to play.
Your brother may be thinking of XP 64-bit, which had terrible support at launch and I think pretty much the whole time.

E/ If I were you, I'd go with a different computer, though. HP is not all that good, especially for gaming.
Since you don't seem like you'd want to build it yourself, could I recommend some nice prebuilt gaming computers? All I need is your budget.

well :p. my pc is mainly for my school work. and not for gaming. gaming comes later. budget: 1000 €. certainly not more. no need for a mouse or keyboard. i need a good proccessor: i prefer intel. graphic card: nvidia prefered. win 7 will do good.

1000 Euros? Okay.
Any online retailers you know of that are in your area/ship to your area?

not quite sure. i live in belgium u see. the only retailers u will find, will be dutch. no clue if u speak that language. and if u do, well, lets say i have to look :p. but if u want other site, fine by me. use something u like. i just order on the internet then :p

XP64 user here. Launch for the Itanium version was ~2001, and that was god awful. What was released in 2005 shares the same codebase as Server 2003. That release is an entirely different kettle of fish. Folks bemoaning how 'unstable' x64 is for XP or Server 2003... odds are, they have not used it since 2006.

I've got a pretty healthy steam library. Of the games, the DRM in Blazing Angles: Squadrens of WWII does not work. GFWL fails with Dirt 2. Borderlands has some issues with the x64 video drivers. That is it. TF2, CS:Source, COH, COD series, Supreme Commander series, C&C, RA... it all just works. It is far more compatible than with Win7 (x64). Most folks don't have boxes with both.

Apple's Itunes is stupid. That required a bunch of work to get to run, mostly because the installer makes many, many wrong assumptions about XP64.

i use apple itunes and safari. these programms must run. safari more less then itunes. but it would be nice though :)

build a comp man, its cheaper. Just do alot of research before you buy expensive hardware.

yh but i am not that smart with pc's like u guys are :). I just want a good pc. thats all. and everything needs to work. thats to important. my pc now keeps giving BSOD's and its irritating me like hell. and i am like so close of throwing my mouse out the window :p

You don't have to be smart to build a computer. It's as simple as x goes in x slot, (its labeled for you) and plug x into x.

ATI had a demo with a monkey putting in a video card..

I know of a pretty decent guide for building a comp, if you need it.
