How much FPS does onlive run at? I'd hate it to run at like only 60 fps, that isn't going to cut it for competitive games.
Also, you have to pay a monthly fee, and pay per game and you never really own the games.. that makes me worried. If I pay all that money then they just go under, I have nothing to show for it.
Also.. the fact you can't do anything to the files, no more mods.
I don't see any frame tearing running CS:S at 150+ fps at all times using a 60hz lcd, but I can definitely notice a difference between 60 fps and 100 fps while playing, everything helps in competition.Uh, what?
Most monitors run at 60Hz, so having more than 60 fps = frame tearing.
If you have a 120Hz monitor, then you probably are gaming in 3D, so you're actually still getting 60Hz.

The human eye seriously can hardly notice the difference at that high Frames Per Second.
Also, OnLive will never be good for competitive FPS gaming, especially with a mouse, the lag between your movement, the cloud gathering that data, and it being reflected on the screen is very noticeable.
Also OnLive is 5$ a month, plus full sticker price for the games.
That's what I was implying Ph?bus. Rarely are you going to see 150+ FPS unless you have a monitor with a refresh rate that high, i.e 3D gaming monitors. With a 60Hz monitor, you are only seeing 60 frames per second. The screen can only refresh 60 frames in a second regardless of how many frames your GPU is rendering per second.
And do you have V-Sync on, Chem!st? I suspect not since you're getting 150+ fps.
I was typing really fast and left out a big chunk of the post. I should have split it into two parts, but I was trying to say two things, one that I don't notice screen tearing on my LCD and that two 100+ fps really does help in competition on a 120hz CRT which most competitive professional FPS players use, and was just questioning how much OnLive can pull to see how good it is.With a 60Hz monitor, you are only seeing 60 frames per second.
