Division

The simple quick answer is no.

Once you have been accepted in to Edge Gamers, You belong to every division really. To be honest, now-a-days the divisions only really serve to promotion purposes and roll calls.

Though - there are some benefits.

You make friends who play your favorite(maybe) game,
You get to know the admins and leadership for your game,
You become a well known player

Belonging to the TF2 division gives you instant cool points.

Just saying.

Well it depends on what you want.

Technically you are in all the divisions but if you play more often on one you might get more noticed which could lead to a promotion.

You can be in them all but it might be easier to dedicate to a specific division (If you have the games) :)

so what do you have to do in order to "dedicate" to a division, i see that there are division logos on the response, IE TF2 and Insurgency

Under the "My Account" tab choose "edit my details." Toward the bottom of that page is an option to display a division tag. Just choose one there and click "save changes."

Pros of being in a division: You know more people in that game.

i suppose.

BC2 Division is better. If you've seen the Ally Bank commercials, you know that newer people always have better stuff, and we're, like, the newest division.

So we have better stuff (ie cookies and cake)

Basically
It's a way to meet more people that enjoy the same game you play the most.
So if you were in Counter Strike Source divisions, you'd meet a lot of friends who played that game and play with them.
Other then that, a little slight difference in Events but not much.

For new recruits/members, being a member of a division is strongly suggested as it becomes easier for one division's leadership to recognize who you are and consider you for promotion.

The same logic applies to those who are of eG rank.

Once you become an eGO, it's not as critical. But again, if you have aspirations for working as an Admin Trainer, Event Coordinator, Recruiter, or becoming an Advisor, affiliating with a division is useful to more easily stand out and be recognized.

Well, you don't have to be an admin to be a recruiter. But, to join the PSC (formally known as 'recruiters') you have to be an eG and up. So, once you settled in a division and get promoted, definitely consider joining the PSC. We can never have too many members and it's a great way to get to know new recruits and fellow PSC members.
