validating counterstrike fials

I just bought counter strike about a week ago for my mac but im already experiencing a problem thats keeping me from playing. Every time i click on the icon to start playing the game a window pops up that says validating files and it loads. After about a minute its at 100% and all the files succesfully validate. But then a window pops up that says the steam servers are too busy to handle my request and to try again later. So i do, and the same thing happens. This has been going on since i bought it and i just want to ask, what can i do to fix this?

Hmm, I say re-install steam :/

->try to launch the game from steam, not the icon/shortcut

->if it persists, validate the files manually (there may be an OsX glitch happening as mac support isn't really stable as it can be yet)
